STAR WARS TFA COMPLAINTS

1. Rey is an expert at everything. Her character has is flawless. No, being abandoned as a child is not a character flaw.

2. Sending BB8 out into the desert.

3. Poe/Finn crash landing conveniently near BB8's location.

4. Also conveniently near the Millennium Falcon.

5. Enormous planet weapon again.

6. Our heroes conveniently landing near where they need to be.

7. Everything on the planet is concentrated in one area (shields, control room, etc)

8. R2D2 not waking up. His map was enough to at least narrow down the location enough to begin a thorough search.

9. Why would it be in Luke's character to run away from his friends, his sister he swore to save, and also in his character to not fight?

10. How did Rey get to Luke's planet so quickly?

11. If Luke was so important, why not force the data out of R2D2.

12. How did Maz get the lightsabre?

13. Maz hates the First Order, yet harbors First Order sympathizers in her castle.

14. Is there only one white and orange droid? How did everyone know which droid to look for? How did they hear about it?

15. What was even the point of the First Order destroying all the planets? It seems like a good number of people supported them. Why blow up planets where they probably had some sympathizers?
>>
whats even going on in that picture
>>
>>63799787
16. How did the First Order know where to attack Maz?

17. Why did Rey feel so strongly about an old man she literally just met? He's not like Obi-Wan; Han taught Ret nothing. All Han did was tell her good-job, and offered her a job. Han was even rude to her at times.

18. Why would the Resistance trust Finn? They just met Finn. Even then, he clearly says he used to work for the First Order. They aren't at least a bit cautious? Everyone just agrees with him.

19. How did Poe get off of Jakku?

20. Why did Poe leave Jakku if he wanted to find BB8?

21. How did the Resistance know where to find Poe? Everyone he was with was killed by the First Order. Nothing was brought with him to the First Order starship. He stole a tie fighter. How did he radio them? Did he? How did they find him?

22. There is clearly First Order swarming Jakku. How did the first order save Poe?

23. Who sold Rey to the junker guy?

24. Han Solo doesn't like the Junker guy. He tells us this while he's on board the Falcon. So, why didn't Han Solo, in his search for the Falcon, check with a guy he knows is a lying scumbag?

25. How do blasters which kill a stormtrooper only injure a rookie?

26. Why is Kylo so weak compared to Ren?

27. Too much like A New Hope

28. How did a single janitor, probably one of millions, know where the shield generators are on this enormous planet?

29. How do people still think the Force or Jedis are only a myth?

30. Finn being an expert marksman/lightsabre user when he himself said he's never seen combat

31. Grunt storm troopers with weapons designed to counter laser swords or lightsabres

32. The relationship between Poe/BB8/Luke
>>
>>63799787
>half of these are answered in the movie

jesus christ do you people just go to the theater and fall asleep? or are you browsing 4chan on your phone while you're supposed to be watching a film?
>>
>>63799787
>. R2D2 not waking up. His map was enough to at least narrow down the location enough to begin a thorough search.

only flaw in your list here

remember that we are talking about SPACE here, that section that was missing was literally like a fourth of a GALAXY, there were probably millions of planets

also luke ran away because he was butthurt that kylo went to the dark side
>>
>>63799787
>Sending BB8 out into the desert

ANH has R2D2 and C3PO sent out into a desert.
>>
>>63799977
See number 10. Rey jumps the Falcon into hyper drive. A few seconds later, they arrive at Luke's planet. How hard was the Resistance trying to find him if he was literally just a few planets over? Don't tell me hyperdrive took them along way away, because it also took them to the New Death Star, which was fairly close already.

Also, see number 9. Since when does Luke run away?
>>
>>63800136
They crash land on a desert, no?
>>
>>63799787
Don't worry anon I bet in the second she losses a limb and the empire strokes back.
>>
>>63800176
>not realising that it would've been boring for the audience to watch rey slowly float through space for 30 minutes at the end of the movie

They don't have to show us absolutely everything, we can imagine that things took as long or as short as a time as required. You're literally nitpicking and trying to fit in despite having not seen the movie. Just fuck off to reddit already fucking child
>>
>>63799822
>who sold Rey to the junker guy

She wasn't a slave. She only sold shit to him for food
>>
>>63800223

After Leia sent R2D2 out on a mission that involved jettisoning from a ship above a desert planet.
>>
>>63800342
>guys just imagine it happened okay lol. Just ignore the flaws and use your imagination
>>63800364
In the flashback scene, we see her as a child and the junker guy grabbing her arm. We don't see his face, but hear his voice and see his arm. She is screaming "please don't go"
>>
>>63799822
>how did the First Order know where to attack Maz?

We literally see someone say they're going to snitch on them. It was even subtitled, so I don't know how you missed it
>>
>>63800496
Ah that's right. That's one we can cross off the list. 30 more.
>>
If the first order is looking for that bb8 droid, why is han like, "you two hide down there, the droid comes with me" then proceeds to answer the door to a bunch of mercenaries who are in league with the first order when it benefits them. What did he expect? Them not to notice the droid?
>>
>>63800474
>guys just imagine it happened okay lol. Just ignore the flaws and use your imagination

You're right. I hate it how in Reservoir Dogs, they keep jumping back and forth between the heist and the warehouse. I mean, how is that logically possible? You can't be in one place shooting at cops and be in another place at the same time cutting another cops ear off. It makes no sense!
>>
>>63799804
Pepe is blowing a ghost that has possessed the popcorn.
>>
>>63799822
>how do people think the Jedi are a myth

Remember, Han wasn't talking to some normie citizens, it was some homeless bitch from the desert and a guy who spent his life as a stormtrooper
>>
>>63800572
That's a good one. I'll add that to the list.

How did those mercenaries even know that BB8 was the droid in question? I guess the First Order told them, but I'm not even sure how the First Order knew, except for Kylo Ren getting the information out of Poe. Even so, why would Kylo Ren or the First Order tell what appears to be rouge mercenaries? What if Han Solo was workin for Kylo Ren, were the two mercenaries gonna kill each other for BB8 after killing Han?
>>
>>63799787
>>63799822
Its like you didn't even watch it. I can't believe I'm replying to this.

2) Be captured or send a perfectly capable droid out of the war zone? I know the most logical answer, do you?

3) They were FLYING back to JAKKU to find BB8, and you find it convenient they crash land within a few hundred miles? Funny.

4) This isn't just convenience, if someone else had found the Millennium falcon, they would have been thrust into this whole thing too. I suppose you find it too convenient that Luke found R2 in the original film, and was thrust into the conflict too? I'd hate to watch anything written by you.

5) Pretty much the staple weapon of the Empire, is it a stretch to think that the First Order wouldn't make a planet destroying weapon to destroy the republic as well?

6) This makes no sense, they land where they need to? Like, they input coordinates and fly there? That's convenient?

7) No, the main control center is near one of the weapons [some kind of energy regulator, I forget what it's called] and that's literally it. The shields were disabled via commands in the CONTROL CENTER.

8) Yeah, I'm sure it's easy to search a 10th of the galaxy for 1 individual. Manhunts in small cities don't even get resolved, and this confuses you?

9) He assumes responsibility for Kylo turning to the dark side, Kylo is his sisters son.

10) By ship, how else? What do you expect? A lengthy scene of them killing time while auto-pilot takes them to their location? Autism at it's finest.

13) Clearly she didn't know, it's a fucking pirate cove essentially, they're all criminals or traders, do you think she vets them all as they walk in the door for a drink?

14) The First Order. Communications signals. Droids in Star Wars are typically unique, yes. Especially droids that accompany rebel/resistance pilots. AKA R2, and the red one.

Anyone devoted to the First Order, and is useful to the first order, is IN the first order. They don't give a shit about random aliens.
>>
>>63799822

>first order put out that they're looking for an orange and white BB8 unit
>fellow smugglers see that Han has an orange and white BB8 unit

how hard is it to understand the thought process here? I think you're baiting because there's no way someone is this retarded
>>
>>63800975
"Literally" go watch the scene again. It's fairly obvious that someone (most likely Han or Luke) sold Rey to the junker, who seemingly controls the village by giving out portions of food to people. Since Han says he hates him, it's most likely Luke who sold her
>>
>storm troopers classically miss 95% of their shots
>Finn is a storm trooper
>can hit 95% of his shots
>>
>28. How did a single janitor, probably one of millions, know where the shield generators are on this enormous planet?

Maybe he cleaned the toilets next to the shield generator. Low-level workers have always been useful in espionage.

>30. Finn being an expert marksman/lightsabre user when he himself said he's never seen combat
Trained since childhood to be a stormtrooper, he probably did loads of marksmanship lessons

>11. If Luke was so important, why not force the data out of R2D2.
They didn't know R2 had the data.

>13. Maz hates the First Order, yet harbors First Order sympathizers in her castle.

She doesn't know that they are.

>14. Is there only one white and orange droid? How did everyone know which droid to look for? How did they hear about it?
The standard model is not white and orange. They heard about it through some sort of news broadcast offering a reward.
>>
>>63801064
>>first order put out that they're looking for an orange and white BB8 unit
Except we never see. Nor do we know what unit it is. Kylo told the stormtroopers and Hux. Somewhere, sometime, I guess Hux told the entire galaxy? Which makes no sense, because clearly if your entire order is using its entire resources to find it, it must important, so why tell the entire galaxy?
>>
>>63800744

Fuck off back to reddit shill
>>
>>63799787
>>63799822
1. It's implied because she is retardly strong in the force that she's able to intuit the right course of action
2. Or let the First Order just get him without a struggle?
3. No defense, just lazy writing
4. Explained that it got stolen three times over, it just worked out that it was there.
5. No defense, just lazy writing
6. Wasn't convenient, they were looking at a big ass map on the base and new where to go, they landed there on purpose.
7. It wasn't, they just didn't pan out every time to show the distance.
8. Yea this was an asspull.
9. He saw his entire legacy literally go up in flames by a fucking traitor who was blood related, it was literally a complete and utter failure on is part hat he couldn't prevent it, it broke him. His response is rational.
10. Do you actually want to see shit in real time?
11. They didn't seem to think it knew anything, but yea it was retarded not to atleast check Luke's personal droid companion.
12. That's another story for another time. Probably one of the anthology movies.
13. Because spies openly reveal themselves to be spies?
14. Po broke under interogation and told Kylo about BB8, Kylo put out a bounty for its recovery.
15. Shock and awe, also it was the capital of the enemy, it will cost the enemy alot of resources and morale
16. Because of the spies....did you not watch the movie?
17. Abandonment and daddy issues, it doesn't take much for her to latch on to people, she latched on to Finn in like a minute for fucks sake.
18. Po vouched for him, Po seems like a big deal who carries some clout, even Kylo knew him by reputation.
19. No defense, just lazy writing.
20. Probably wrote it off, it is just a droid.
21. Once the First Order moved on he probably called in a ride.
22. It isn't a First Order world, Kylo moved on to hunt BB8, we only see 1 star destroyed in action the whole movie, Kylo took it where ever he went.
23. she isn't a slave, he's her boss/buyer
>>
My biggest complain was how badly the dramatic moments were handled, especially the First Order destroying the Republic system.

The movie moved on from it almost immediately. Even just Alderaan getting destroyed in the OT felt like much more of a tragedy.
>>
>>63801200
>WE DON'T SEE IT HAPPEN SO HOW DO WE KNOW????
>WE DON'T SEE HAN SOLO TAKE A DUMP THIS MEANS THAT HE DOESN'T POO EVER RIGHT???

The movie is made for children and you're too stupid to understand basic plot nuances. How does this make you feel?
>>
>>63799822
16) Did you not hear the alien woman report that she had located BB8? No? Okay, that explains it.

17) She's a poor scavenger with nothing in her life living on a junk planet, suddenly she is face to face with a hero of a legend she has heard, on a ship with equal status, would you not be excited?

18) He helped Poe escape, He helped BB8 with the map data, He helped Han and Chewie several times, was being actively hunted by the First Order, and note that no one just decided to instantly trust him, he was already with Han by the time they got to the resistance base. There's his credibility.

19) Presumably called for aid on a communicator, that's not really important for the plot is it. Rey didn't use the toilet the whole movie, how did she do that?

21) Essentially the same question as 19

23) Was she sold? Didn't hear anything about this, she seemed like a pretty free person to me. If she wasn't then I would assume the people in the flashback who were holding her back screaming did.

24) Actually, he mentions why he should've searched Jakku in that exact scene, if you were watching.

25) It hits his arm, and he's in agnoy for a while

26) You mean Rey? He was already wounded by a blaster, and was up against another force-sensitive person, also Rey has experience with a staff, some basic melee combat must not have been hard to do, I actually thought that saber fight was one of the best things out of every one of the Star Wars movies.

27) How? And even if so, this is a Star Wars for a new generation. This is what it's supposed to be about.

28) Finn didn't disable the shields. Captain Phasma did. Did you even watch this fucking movie?

29) Why would they think otherwise? Watch the originals, then this movie, and tell me why everyone should know about these mysterious religious cult people with special powers.

30) Training. They even go over this.
>>
>>63799787
>>63799822
24. They thought another asshole who stole it still had it.
25. Depends where you get shot, kind of like real life.
26.Because he's a jobber, and she is said to be strong as fuck in the force, he even admits she has more raw power then he does, and apparently he is still an apprentice and not even fully trained.
27. Can't argue with this.
28. You stay in a place long enough you get the lay of the land, also at some point he probably had to clean it.
29. because there is only a few people left alive who can use it, and they don't eactly advertise it
30. He ha been trained though, and frankly he got his ass kicked plenty proving he only got basic storm trooper training.
31. How do you know he was only a grunt, he might be a specialist
32. A droid and his pilot....what are you getting at?
>>
STAR WARS TFA COMPLAINTS

1. Rey is an expert at everything. Her character has is flawless. No, being abandoned as a child is not a character flaw.
Yeah, this bugged me too, but I chalked it up to Force prescience. Like Muad'Dib: "he shall know your ways as if born to them."

3. Poe/Finn crash landing conveniently near BB8's location.
They were aiming for a part of the planet where they knew the droid was. Imagine aiming for NYC from space if you knew where the city is.

5. Enormous planet weapon again.
Yeah, this was unnecessary. It should have just been the FO Fleet as a threat to the Resistance.
8. R2D2 not waking up. His map was enough to at least narrow down the location enough to begin a thorough search.
Yeah, a droid that commits suicide. Either that or he learned how to lose the will to live from his old mistress.

10. How did Rey get to Luke's planet so quickly?
There's no indication of how long the trip actually took. Plus, she had a map.

11. If Luke was so important, why not force the data out of R2D2.
It was buried deep in R2's memories, and it took time to find and retrieve it.

12. How did Maz get the lightsabre?
That's a story for another time.

14. Is there only one white and orange droid? How did everyone know which droid to look for? How did they hear about it?
Poe says "he's orange and white...one of a kind."

16. How did the First Order know where to attack Maz?
No one ever said she was hidden. It's likely the FO had her information, but they didn't know what kind of stuff she really had, so they left her alone.
>>
17. Why did Rey feel so strongly about an old man she literally just met?
Han Solo Groupie. Imagine if you met Harrison Ford, who you've been a fan of for years, and is just what you wanted Harrison Ford to be. You'd probably have the same reaction.

19. How did Poe get off of Jakku?

He's a badass. Imagining the story is better than knowing the story.

24. Han Solo doesn't like the Junker guy. He tells us this while he's on board the Falcon. So, why didn't Han Solo, in his search for the Falcon, check with a guy he knows is a lying scumbag?
Han knows lots of scumbags. Plus, it was pretty well hidden away on Jakku.

27. Too much like A New Hope
Yeah, but it's tough to introduce a hero, and follow the hero on his journey to join something greater and defeat the enemy without making it a bit like ANH.

28. How did a single janitor, probably one of millions, know where the shield generators are on this enormous planet?
He cleaned their shitters.

30. Finn being an expert marksman/lightsabre user when he himself said he's never seen combat
When stormtroopers take their helmets off, they can see better, so they instantly become better shots. Seriously. Clones could shoot, and we saw their faces. Han and Luke could shoot, and they took off the helmet. Finn only started being a deadeye shot when he lost the stormtrooper helmet and got in the TIE Fighter.

31. Grunt storm troopers with weapons designed to counter laser swords or lightsabres
The electric batons are bigass stun guns that would be great for crowd control. General Greivous's guards had something similar. It just happens that they can ALSO block a lightsaber.
