seasone 1 and 2 are the only okay seasons, season 3 is bascially charmed in the 2000's and i only watched a few episodes from the carnival season before i just couldnt go on. if you dont like the insane assylum stuff you might as well just stop, because it dosent get any better

The first season was the only one i gave half a shit about. Didn't watch all of the second, hated the third, carnival one had me interested until they started doing super lame musical numbers (think Freaks meets Glee) and looked at my phone through most of the hotel one.

I love the concept of it but it seems to just be getting worse as it goes.

Just like >>71495871 I liked the concept of season 2 so far. But why not just leave it at religion and mental illnesses, instead of throwing every horror/thriller trope and popular political topic they know into it? Even the characters are almost the same as season 1 (the "twisted psychologist", the "misunderstood murderer", the "we're both crazy lets fuck love interest", the "I need to get out of the horror setting victim" and the "man hating old lady").

Because they think being over the top is equal to good writing. Throw every trope and cliché into a slick, shiny package and it makes people think they're watching something good. It's all just recycled vignettes from other movies tied together with a loose theme anyway, and the overarching plots are mostly shit anyway.

Now that I think of it, I couldn't actually tell you what any of the seasons were even about. People move into a haunted house/asylum/coven/carnival/hotel? Shit happens to them? Resolution? There's no plot, just scenes.

I started with Hotel and couldn't get past the halfway point. Everyone tells me that was the worst season and to watch 1-3, but I thought Gaga was one of the few decent things Hotel had going for it and I know she isn't in the old ones. Advice?
