They help us heal from our emotional wounds and provide absolute unconditional love. They have evolved to identify every one of our micro expressions, anticipating every need and command. Dogs become an integral part of any family unit. We feel their loss with as much pain as when we lose a fellow human.
And they do all of this freely and willingly. They choose our companionship. There is no other creature on this earth that I would rather be friends with than a dog.

I cant know for sure, but I swear they pay attention to it sometimes. Like during a really loud part of a movie my dog will go from kinda sleeping to ip and staring right at it for like 10 secs, then loses intrest.

she'd sometimes react to sudden loud noises or a dog barking but I doubt she was really aware they were coming from the TV or even what the TV was
was always funny when I'd be watching some really old movie or whatever and a dog would start barking and she'd sit up and start lightly growling probably thinking the dog from 50+ years ago and probably a few thousand miles away was in our garden or something
