I used to work out with a bro from Venezuela when I lived in Canada. Anyway when it was time to return to Venezuela I helped him pack and went to airport with him. When he packed, he put all his valuable stuff at the bottom of his suitcase (eg like his good clothes and shoes etc), but then he put out of date food like tuna and salmon at the top of his suitcase, as well as boxers and socks that he had not washed for months and smelled really bad at the top. I asked him why he did that and he said its cause Venezuelan security and baggage handlers would look through his suitcase for nice clothes and shoes etc when they saw that his bag had come from a rich country like Canada. He also wore a red hoody when he went back home and he told me wore it so that the police or home intelligence division wouldn't investigate him (red to signify support for Chavez and socialism, he actually hated Chavez and his party btw). He also tells me he doesnt tend to go out at night in Venezuela cause its too dangerous.

Pretty much 100% of the victims of the crime in Venezuela are Venezuelans. There was a video just today of a woman getting kidnapped and thrown in a car in a deli parking lot in broad daylight.
