Hey man, I started on working on this stuff too back in October. Hadn't really had any art classes or drawn much before.
I ordered a drawing tablet recently and am still waiting for its arrival.
I've mostly been doing basic exercises from some digital books my friend got me.
I mostly have been drawing faces while doodling and try to practice drawing each part of the body separately
I still have lots of trouble with drawing full body drawings but ive been playing with it more now.
Good to see someone else working on this stuff, its been a headache sometimes but try to have fun with it and don't expect too much too fast. Make sure to read and study stuff you can find. That's what ive been going with anyways.

Ive been lucky enough to know some bad ass artists that could out draw me in 1 min than if I had spent an hour on it. They don't religiously practice every day of their lives. Skills acquired won't diminish so fast.
They surely have at different points in their lives. You gotta practice periodically throughout the week and you gotta make time for it somehow to get really good at it. Same way with any skill you will learn in your life.

Well you know it definitely could be different for each person. I just liked the idea as a reason to work. The better work you can make the happier people will be, they generally don't want things they feel they could easily do by themselves.
I will need the skill to a degree for my career goals. I haven't really been satisfied with everything I was learning at class so I thought now would be as good of time as any to try and pick up the skill.
From your drawings though it looks like you may need to look up symbol drawing and how to break away from it. Your going for too much at once without focusing on each part.

Some people enjoyed it enough at young ages to do it as a hobby and have developed it themselves a bit.
The best thing to do is watch some basic videos, read some books and start from scratch. That gets you on the right track to how you need to improve.
Before I started drawing the first thing I did was work on my god awful hand writing. I looked at basic things such as how to hold you pencil and what kind of muscles to use to wright with. I had to change the way I held my pencil in my hand because it wasn't optimal for drawing or writing(which im thinking now is not necessary).
I filled out several notebooks working on handwriting and still do it as I work on drawing stuff.
Since then my handwriting is so much better, i'm not embarrassed by it anymore at least.
Improvement comes but you gotta have patience man.
I don't want to discourage you but there is not something you can do to learn this the first time. Even really talented artists that are working with a concept that is new to them will practice its basic frame work over and over until they get better at it.
