/npg/ - Neopets general
Official Art opening post edition
(I have a smaller version of this image with less loss, but it's a cap that got more text over it, so....)
>New to the /npg/ or Neopets in general?
If you have ANY questions, ask and someone should respond. Things are getting active again.
>I remember this! What's changed in my absence?
>Basic guides for newbies:
Play for up to 50K a day.
>Daily visits guide
>Food Club Bet page links
>Any new pets?
>Puzzle Adventure Codes
>How did I get RS banned so fast?
Neopian shops now automatically and randomly clear themselves. To check if you're actually banned or not, go check on the Neoboards or go into other shops.
>Why are you guys playing this?
Mainly nostalgia. And to make some in-game dosh.
>Why am I so poor?
Feel free to ask for advice! For newcomers, the battledome is a steady source of income and is a good way to get started.
Battledome rewards are here, with both per-arena and per-opponent lists: http://battlepedia.jellyneo.net/?go=battle_prizes
>WHAT ARE THESE BIRTHDAY PETS?
Adopt for a stat-boosting cupcake, then dump back in the pound. You can only get one cake a day.
New players or players returning after a long absence: post username and I'll send you stuff to get started. Also best witch, et cetera.
Wasn't sure if you already had the Forgotten Shore, so I sent the map. The Nerkmids can be liquidated for quick dosh, or you can use them and hope you get lucky.
Reminder that TNT once brought a sick kid to their office to fulfill her wish with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and they made a news post and named a petpet after her.
Apparently, the Eizzil was released on June 24th, 2006, so it just recently turned 10.
I wonder. Was Neopets owned by Viacom/Nickelodeon when the Eizzil was released?
Regardless, that's quite sweet, & neat.
>two items pass my filter
>only get one
>correctly guessed the UB R97
Here you go! May be worth your time to bookmark 'em, mind you, but, eh; I'm happy to help, anyway!
Also, remember that you need to visit the Bagatelle's Fairground page to check the jackpot.
Squares 2, 4, 6, 3, 1, 8, with them being numbered from top left to bottom right.
Although, you know, you could probably sell it for close to 7K, you know, anon.
Time to gamble a level or two, with Count Von Roo!
Also, Turmaculus is likely to be awake about 3 hours from now, or 12 hours from then, so you may want to keep that in mind.
Lastly, Tarla IS here, today! http://www.neopets.com/freebies/tarlastoolbar.phtml
Good luck on your dailies, /npg/!
Oh, and it's Kiko day today!
So free training for Kikos level 40 and under here: http://www.neopets.com/pirates/academy.phtml
Also, they're Limited Edition, so it should also be possible to create one today, unlike normally, and the Daily Puzzle should have a Kiko-related item prize for answering it right.
Keep an eye on this page for the answer: http://www.jellyneo.net/?go=dailypuzzle
Yeah, lol, sorry.
Tarla CAN show up today, but she isn't here right now.
Tarla shows up for 15 minutes at a time, up to 4 times per day, between 10 & 45 minutes after the current hour, as long as the hour isn't 6 or 12 AM or PM, Neopian Standard Time (NST).
12 AM, 6 AM, 12 PM, & 6 PM mark the "breaks" between the beginnings & ends of the 4 time periods she can show up on a day she's here.
Any time between 10 & 45 minutes after 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 AM, NST.
Interval 2: Any time between 10 & 45 minutes after 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 AM, NST.
Interval 3: Any time between 10 & 45 minutes after 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 PM, NST.
Interval 2: Any time between 10 & 45 minutes after 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 PM, NST.
Tarla gives out a prize that's pre-determined each day she shows up, if you find her within the first 3 minutes of one of her 4 visits. If you find her during a visit after the first 3 minutes, it's a random prize from a pool of items.
However, no matter when you catch her, you can only get 1 prize a day from her.
Seeing as how she sometimes gives out Lab Map Pieces within the first 3 minutes, it can be worth your time to skip her 1st interval, then check the Help Neoboards later to find out what she's giving, and see if you're interested.
Then just refresh... I'd say, every 2 or 3 minutes for fast arrival/main prizes, or maybe every 10 or 15 prizes, if you'd rather get a randomly chosen prize instead of her main/fast arrival one.
Pardon the TL;DR, please.
Daily Puzzle Answer is "No one knows...".
Prize is 241 NP & Caramel Kiko Sweets, a rarity 85 item last valued at 3,150 NP by JN, & 4,465 NP by NC.
Good luck selling them before their value drops!
>regular and red codestone prices keep dropping
>no events that make money
When will it end guys?
It's always interesting seeing what Mira's giving to Premium Users.
Also, 10 minutes from the end of this hour, Tarla will start her 2nd of 4 daily intervals.
Her main prize, given if you show up within the first 3 of 15 minutes of a visit, is a Brown Moehog Morphing Potion (Worth about 7K or so.) today.
Lastly, thread seems a bit slow. I'm pondering posting a bunch more Neopian Times Comics (Don't worry, they're not all awfully drawn/written.) because of said slowness. That sound good to anyone here?
As far as I can tell, some anon here lucked out and got an Ultra Icy Negg, 8 minutes after her visit. Meaning it was a random prize, instead of the main one of the day.
Sadly, I was asleep when an anon here mentioned her.
....And after checking the Neoboards, I just noticed she did her 2nd interval visit around 7:12 AM EST. About 53 minutes ago, and when you were posting, anon.
And also when I was watching a show.
Welp, our next opportunities to catch her and get the MP (Or a more random prize.) start at 1:10 PM, NST, then.
Do you ever visit the Underwater Fishing Vortex, /npg/?
What sort of luck do you and all your Neopets have?
And with that, I'm probably going to head to work for the day.
Just a reminder to start refreshing here: http://www.neopets.com/freebies/tarlastoolbar.phtml ....At 1:10 PM NST, if you want a chance at a prize (Like a Brown Moehog Morphing Potion, the non-random prize given during the first 3 minutes of her visit today.) from Tarla today.
If you don't know how to figure out NST yet, 1:10 PM, NST, is about 35 minutes before the Food Club Betting Gates normally close.
If you don't
Ahh. Well, thanks for the answers.
Also, don't forget to bet, /npg/.
Got in too late, and RNG gave me an Iced Doughnut Bean Bag. Oh well. Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow, if she's around.
Thanks for linking, anon!
Good luck to anyone refreshing for her during her 4th interval.
Some days she will show up, other days she won't.
She never shows up during 6 or 12 AM or PM, NST, nor before 10 minutes after an hour or after 45 minutes after an hour.
Hence, the times are divided into 4 groups.
So: Interval 1 is 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 AM, NST, between 10 & 45 minutes after the hour.
And interval 3 is the same, but in PM.
Interval 2 is 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11 AM, NST. Between 10 & 45 minutes after the hour.
Interval 4 is the same, but in PM.
Strangely, a lot of sites lack guides on this feature, so here's a petpage that explains stuff and shows some prize lists.
Sadly, it's been neglected for months now, but it's still fairly accurate.
Some of her better prizes include Secret Lab Map Pieces, Scorchstones, Neggs, & some somewhat valuable stamps.
Oh, and I forgot to mention:
When visiting her page while she's not present, the text shown tells you if she's here today or not.
To paraphrase the petpage:
If it says "Tarla is busy with her other chores today. Check back tomorrow to see if she's back! " then she isn't going to show up.
While if it says "Tarla is at the prize warehouse right now. Check back later to see if she's here!" then she is going to show up.
On days when she is going to show up, she'll do so 4 times; Once per interval, but still only one prize per user, per day.
Many years ago, in the site's earlier days, when Tarla was being introduced, there was actually a Neopets toolbar you could download, which, among other features, alerted you to when Tarla was around.
Nowadays, that's pretty much impossible to obtain.
Brb, i'm gonna go win the 150 NC from the Expellibox before my luck runs out
I visited the Forgotten Shore and all I got was this stupid avatar
I saw a buried treasure and thought "holy shit this is finally the day where I can find an MP"
BUT FUCKING NO
IT JUST HAD TO GIVE ME THE STUPID AVATAR
>You have followed the winding passages deep into the cavern. You sense the treasure is very close, but which way to choose?
>You've made it past the first cavern and are faced with another choice.
Goshdarnit, I forgot about Turmaculus. He WAS awake about 2 hours ago, and I had known he was going to be since much earlier in the day.
Anyway, get blasted: http://www.neopets.com/winter/snowager.phtml
Also, Turmaculus is likely scheduled for waking up 1 AM or PM, NST, on Tuesday. So you may want to check on him in about 3 hours from now.
So /npg/, have you ever tried the Haunted House?
(Or from the main page of the Haunted Woods, towards the bottom right.)
Finding all the bad endings is amusing, and getting the good ending is difficult but it IS possible. You don't get any NP, though.
Between this, the Sacrificers plot, and the Ski Lodge Murder Mystery, Neopets used to be friggin' dark back in the olden days.
