It'd help her understand why Rose fought for humanity, choose to love someone (Rather than with Rose loving her because of the Master thing, after all I doubt she'd ever think of Greg as her Master, only her Equal at most) and very importantly
It'd be something in which she is equal to Rose, without exception loved and cared for as much as Rose was, that'd be fantastic for Pearl.
Plus Greg is probably the only person hurt as much by Rose leaving as Pearl was, in his own quiet way. They're both pretty lonely, fucked up people basically.
