I'm glad they let May put up a fight. I thought, when the episode before ended with Pyrrha advancing on May, that it would be a quick death for her next episode.
Nope.
As soon as the opening had rolled on the next episode, May grabs her rifle, pops smokes, and puts Pyrrha though hell with her sniping skills. Even if Pyrrha did win it with her magnetism bullshit as usual, I think it was the greatest possible send-off for May. She went down pulling out the very best of her sniperfu against a high-level villain, and the animators were clearly invested in showing us that.
