My earliest scaly book actually was between a human and his (jealous) dragoness. Actually a good read, and even though the ending is a little bittersweet, he still gets to see his dragon every time he dreams.

I don't know if this is the place to ask, but I was hoping someone here could help me identify this old book series about dragons that I read when I was in middle school.
It was about some humans on an alien planet, where they raised dragons for fighting and whatnot. Some kid steals an egg and raises his own dragon for to use in fighting competitions. I think there were two books in total. The second book ended on a really strange note, with the kid and some other girl [spoiler]taking shelter in his dead dragon's corpse in a cave. They then wake up in shells, and hatch into dragon/human hybrids. It kind of came out of fucking nowhere to me.[/spoiler]

1. More line breaks, good grief do this if nothing else

While I don't think immediately going to the "meat" of the scenario is bad, a small establishment to at least the appearance or type of the dragons while you're getting through the opening actions would be nice. No reason to leave it to later if it's just a few words. Like say, establish his primary scales, then the lighter underbelly shade when it goes to " She flipped him over with relative ease and began licking his sensitive midrift." Just to give some idea I guess.

I haven't written anything in a while so it's all over the place. I'll keep that in mind when I go back and edit it. I have a problem with taking too much time to edit something and never getting it finished. I know it's sloppy, but at least I know what to go back and fix.
