Yeah I've noticed that there's been an influx of thicc lately. Although it could just be the same thiccposters doing around different threads and getting others to come out of the woodwork. I get the feeling it's actually a cultural shift. I've been on /b/ since 2005, and while chubby/thick threads happened now and then, it's a constant stream now- there is always a chubby thread, always a thick thread, always a fat thread, sometimes multiple.
I think men are simply learning to love it. The pros are pretty strong:

With "crossed the line" I mean where you realized you had crossed some sort of point where you realized you were fat and it was a problem. For me, that would be noticing stretch marks. I was cooking with a lot of butter, at that time. Maybe I shouldn't have done that. Pommes fondant and breaded fish are great, but they aren't exactly good for you. It's like there's this equilibrium in food. You can have two of tasty, healthy, and cheap, but seemingly not all three at a time.
Anyway, I'm slightly taller, and about 10 kg's heavier at my last weigh-in. I might have lost a bit, since then. I've got a fair degree of muscle, though. People usually don't figure I weigh more than 100 kg's.
But yes, I understand your problem. I mean, I'm on /trash/, so I obviously have some issues of my own. And when your life is shit, or feels like shit, it's easy to reach for tasty food and just stuff your gullet. I also used to smoke weed erry day, and the munchies don't exactly help.
I've been making a lot of vegetable soup since I noticed those stretchmarks. Soup is very filling, it's cheap, it's easy to make. It's the only really proper "cheat food" I know, that cheats the system I explained up there.
But take heart that you're nowhere near the upper spectrum of fat fucks. I can name a bunch of people I know who are heavier than you are. Including myself. You can identify your bad habits, and change them.

I weight 128 and I've thought about throwing on 40 or 50 pounds.
However, I enjoy being thin, so I'd want to work it all off after enjoying my new belly.

It's more of a gamble as to how good the fat will look.
Girls tend to get nice curves (up to a certain point) when gaining weight.
With guys that fat can be distributed wherever and tends to be more square than curved.
