That would take a lot of balance and bats actually are physically unable to stand up. Their bones, center of balance, and muscles just can't work that way.
You can always play the "its zootopia" card but that's too easy and I prefer to try and work around those obstacles in a difficult manner. It really makes you use your imagination.
As far as occupations go I like to try and use the flight to their advantage. As a cop you could fly all over patrolling from above. As a civilian you could deliver items quickly, work search and rescue, be an airborne photographer, ect. Basically your jobs would be limited but your ability to fly would be the heavy emphasis of it.

Can't really help you with the religion aspect, though lore-wise I've got a few ideas
First responders would probably consist of a team of animals of all different species to handle whatever species a call come in for; imagine a gazelle responding to a call and needing to give an elephant cpr.
Each team would probably have at least one of each size class: XL(rhino), L(cheetah), M(otter), S(lemming)
This would be better than the approach of having a specialized 'size' team based on the type of call, as it would be a logistics nightmare to get the proper teams on-scene in a reasonable timeframe, and you would be short-staffed should multiple calls for the same class come in.

well, lore thing I've mostly wondered is places outside of Zootopia. It seems to be a city state given each biome seems to be somewhere around five square miles AT LEAST (I would estimate more like a 20 sq mile area), but we know Judy comes from Bunny Burrow which is apparently in "the next state over" which is called "Triburough"*, and the nation they live in is Animalia. So what else is there?
I am, perhaps, overconfident in my theory that Zootopia-earth has at least begun using Fusion energy to meet their needs. That's my headcanon and there's little one can do to convince me otherwise unless you can think of a better source.

Alright, before you jump into this, DO NOT try to introduce him to your parents before talking him up as much as you possibly can. He's proven so far that he's a pretty nice guy, and I'm assuming you'd like to keep him around. Speaking from experience, if your parents don't support your relationship, it's far more likely to fall apart. Try telling them how great the guy you're dating is, letting them know how nice he is before mentioning that he's a predator, and eventually easing them into a canine, then a fox. Maybe they didn't see you kiss, and just are being weird because of something else.
