I'd say that they're a bit more open minded, and yeah, I'd agree that this is better. Gives you a taste, vs just going straight to it. Although personally, I never use furaffinity, I just stick with e621. Although I did spend a long time on Second Life, that exposed me to a lot of different fandoms of varying degrees.
