Yeah, I think the issue is that a lot of artists only feel comfortable drawing the same type of characters.
I kind of see why; I actually like fat girls and I don't draw them that often, since fat is actually really hard to get to look right. It flows like fabric but still has heft. A lot of artists have the same problems with boobs, and fat is like having a character made of boob.

I've noticed it in Japan more than in the west, honestly. The west has "stronk fat characters" in webcomics but NEVER in official media. Anything not perfectly skinny is flat out not allowed in Hollywood to be presented as "hot." They can be funny, like the Ghostbusters chick or the chick from Hairspray, but not hot.
Japan gets curvier women in anime a lot recently though, and Pochaco was a big deal in the Otaku community. I'd say for them it's due to fat girls having exaggerated sexual features as opposed to skinny girls

I also had definition tie into it too, the base idea being a MILF aged Violet and her powers developing with age in addition to with her body.
Like on the flipside, a Musclegirl Violet would be able to stop projectiles cold, had more angular forcefield constructs to form into power boots/gauntlets.
Strongfat would be a crazy blend of both and the whole forcefield hamsterball trick would be nigh unstoppable.
Also, the forcefield energy potential's in general has grown so much she's got a passive protective aura that's added a purple tinge to her skin, but that's part of my general ideas for an older Violet that basically project a bit of She-Hulk onto her future.

That applies to any women in any media. A male character with a flaw is just a character with a flaw, but a female character with a flaw is sexism. Ironically, this results in more main characters being male since you can do whatever story you want without being called sexist, while the females are stuck with 'safe' flaws that don't draw as many complaints.
