The funny thing is that they didn't even have to make Cheetah be a "furry" character. In the comic versions, she's usually either a woman with cheetah colored skin and a cat tail, or she's a regular looking woman wearing a cheetah costume. They specifically decided to re-imagine her as looking more like an anthropomorphic cheetah than her comic counterpart, almost as if Timm wanted to demonstrate how much better he'd gotten at drawing sexy animal women.
