So uh, any other options for an highly articulated Superman?
>>
I have never actually found a Superman figure worth buying.

Highly articulated... not really, at least as far as "classic" comic Superman figures go. Pic related is hands down the most fun Superman, if that means anything to you.
>>
>>5748259
He looks like a plastic surgeons gay failed experiment.
>>

I don't mind the design, but with their qc and lack of good faces thus far, I'll wait for reviews.

>>5748263
Is there a version of that without the whole slicked back hair thing? I don't mind the design except for that. Is there a man of steel version with a normal cut?
>>
>>5748302
That's how his hair was in the film, so no.
>>
>>5748313
Did Mafex ever do one for man of steel or is that it?
>>
>>5748315
Oh, no, only BvS. Sorry, I misinterpreting your original comment.

>>

Sorry to say, that literally now also means figuratively since earlier this year. It's literally, not figuratively, the worst thing to happen this year.
>>
>>5748896
No, it "means" that colloquially. Just because idiots keep saying it to the point that a dictionary has to include it to explain how stupid it is doesn't suddenly mean that it also means the opposite.
>>
Still my go to Superman. I can't believe I haven't replaced him after all these years.
>>
>>5748259
I have seen zero pictures of the Icons Supes where it didn't look terrible, but I eyeballed it the other day in the comic shop and it didn't look nearly as bad in person. Nowhere close to the proto, but way better than in these pictures

>>
>>5748700
I hate to say it but I agree. I think it looks a lot better in the latest photos than when it was announced and now it reminds me a lot of classic Superman artists like Curt Swan.

Also if you buy it though Sideshow, there's a discount code for July that'll knock it down to $55.

Something to consider, but I'm waiting for their Frank Miller Supes personally.
>>
>>5749872
Yeah it doesn't look nearly as bad as everyone's making it out to be, I think it's just the price tag that's absurd. 55 ain't bad, what's the code? And is it only able to be used in July?
>>
>>5749872
I just can't get past the costume and face. The face is really soft and has a weak looking mouth and chin, which is pretty wrong for the character and makes him look emaciated, and the costume is easily the worst cloth costume mezco has done. The fact that they went with that thick plastic S solely for the magnet gimmick is terrible.
>>
>>5749924
16JUN316 is the current discount code. Not sure what July's is going to be.
>>
>>5749277
You should definitely get it. Scout ebay and wait for a good price. I got mine in 2014 for like $12. People get too caught up in the articulation game these days and they skip over basic but fun figures like that.
>>
I recently bought the DC collectibles Batman TAS Batman figure. i displayed it with the batarang in his hand, i went to go mess with the leg joint which was stiff. the batarang ended up flying out of his hand and i lost it. I have pic related, not greatly articulated, but the sculpt is pretty good. The New 52 costume grew on me too. The figure itself is pretty tall, he's the second tallest figure on my shelf, loses to the DB Figuarts Broly, but he really gives off that Superman feel.

There's the figuarts Injustice Superman if youre really hurting for a well articulated Superman, but i'm not a fan of his Injustice look.

So I found my batarang. I thought it flew against the wall and perhaps fell somewhere inbetween my bed and wall which is a place I cannot reach unless I move the whole room around which is a pain in the ass. Turns out it actually landed in my laundry basket right next to me. Went to go grab some clothes to throw in the washer and I saw a little black spec fall into the bottom of the basket.

Moral of the story. Never loose your Batarangs because you can't fucking replace them. You'd think someone online would sell them loose, but no. Make sure you take extra good care of them. Also don't play around with the articulation until you remove any accessories in the hand.

Yeah. When your flagship line is batting below .500 in worthwhile releases, is mired by constant delays, is dropping accessories across the board while raising prices, and mishandling the toy of literally the single most iconic superhero of all fucking time, you're looking at shit that isn't worth getting into.

>I can't fathom what went through the minds in DCC
I happen to be a mind reader that can peer into the past, it's a special talent hereditarily passed on to me from my uncle via kissing, so let me help you out there and peer into a conversation at the DCC offices in 2014:

>Hey Frank, Hasbro seems to be doing pretty well with their superhero figures, while we're pretty much collecting cobwebs in comic shops with ours. Any ideas on how to address that?

>Hmm... what scale are those Hasbro Legends figures again, Jim? I might have an idea.

>Uh, like 1:12, they're basically 6" or so, Frank.

>Uh-huh, 6", got it, Jim. We'll just copy that, people will love it. Hold on, I've got an important phone call coming in.

>No, wait, Frank, you see, 6" is going to be too small, and we would look bad making our heroes look shrimpy next to Hasbro's. They need to be 1:12.

>Uh-huh, 1:12, got it. I need to take this call, it'll be a long one so email me that scale thing again so I don't forget.

>O-okay, Frank.

The next day, before he could send the email to Frank, Jim died in a swimming pool accident because his skeleton was pulled out of his urethra when he stuck his penis into the drain. And thus we got pic related and it all went downhill from there.

Also I could never actually find any of the Icons because the only places carrying then were comic shops and online stores. My LCS wouldn't order them unless I bought a whole case because toys are such poor sellers here. Plus, I don't know that we've heard much for beyond wave 3 yet so it may be dead in the water.

Prices increases are in figures with lots of more plastic like Batgirl or Cyborg the prices are pretty steady so far.

With the Accesories pack you are being greedy as fuck
Cant remember what the packs had but they were mainly stuff for a Flash that already came with alternate hands and a treadmill and stuff for a Green Lartern that already had a fucking suit alternate hands and lartern
Every packs comes with a little figure and some museum thingy so they arent moving anything at all or you're telling me that you wanted the Green Lartern with the suit, alternate hands, little squirrel guy, effects part and a Dr Fate Helmet for 23.99...nah man not gonna happen

The thigh swivel is whatever so far havent had any trouble but because I barely use the thigh swvel, I wished the legs go up more though

How they fuck up Batman? Hard mode no complaining about scale

Superman face may be bad but it's the best superman in terms of sculpt and articulation so far

>Prices increases are in figures with lots of more plastic like Batgirl or Cyborg the prices are pretty steady so far.
No, every figure they are planning on releasing now has increased in price. The MSRP for a standard release is $28 going forward. So, factually, they are increasing prices and, again, factually, they are reducing accessories.

>So much hyerbole

Fucking poorfag.

Seriously, fuck off poorfag.
I buy second hand toys all the fucking time and pay more than what they originally cost, just because i like them.
There is nothing wrong with a good toy. Only the price might be wrong, but the toy itself is still good.

If the toy isn't good? Well, shit on it all you want. I will too, but something like this is still great regardless of the price.

Did they actually fuck up the sculpting on Superman's face or it is just the lack of paint that makes him look lame? It's unfair to compare it to not-MSRP, because everyone will pay different prices depending on their location. I mean, i pay less than MSRP, but if it sells out in my local stores? I'd likely have to pay MSRP or more if i count shipping.
>>
>>5758509
>MSRP increased but no one pays that and you know it
So what will they pay? Your logic is flawed (not surprisingly) because the idea that no one pays MSRP translates to both pre- and post-price increase, i.e. a $23 figure marked down to $20 is still LESS EXPENSIVE than a $28 figure marked down to $25. So no matter what, you're paying more for the same type of figure. You fucking nitwit.

>And the accesories haven't decreased at all
So on top of not understanding logic and/or math, you're also a liar or (at best) ignorant of the things you're talking about. That's cool. Let me educate you: Flash was supposed to have 3 sets of hands (we can let this one slide because he was before the price jump announcement). Harley was supposed to come with a rubber chicken, a pie, AND a second smiling face. Wow, that's three accessories. Three seems a little bit more than the zero you were saying. Anyways, Static's jacket is now nixed according to reports and a recent con display. Joker's handgun is missing from recent solicitation images, so the assumption is that that's gone, too. And a recent instagram post of Cyborg revealed that they're already planning on dumping at least one of his accessories into a pack.

Did I miss any?

>And you didn't adressed anything else
Forgive me for not BTFO'ing you earlier. I hope this post satisfies you and shuts you up.

Yep, and what are you going to do about it? Everyone has increased prices and moving manufacturing to cheaper places isn't going to decrease them for us.

checking out my own figures, it pretty much is the Figuarts splattering of dots everywhere.
BUT, it isn't just the dots, there are actual paint apps underneath what they're supposed to be "enhancing" (highlights, shading). I guess this is why i didn't notice them.

>>5758589
Those paint issues are apparently just the benday dots. Like on HArley's lips, you can count the little dots, which makes it look like paint slop, because the lips underneath are fully painted with a pad or masking.
Later figures are being more heavy handed with the dots than the earlier ones, but they at least haven't gone full retard like Bandai did by skipping real paint apps altogether and sculpted detail.

DCC's own promotional images, genius. Or if that's not good for you (it seems like autists in this thread won't give up until they're beaten down by facts and retreat) you can take it from the DC website's solicitations:

>I believe what you're trying to say is

No. Please, improve your reading skills, or if you lack the cognitive skills to carry along in a conversation, don't try and rephrase what people mean because you'll just screw it up. Figures that have the higher msrp LOST accessories that had been previously shown at con appearances and solicitation images. Static, Joker, etc. There is nothing to it beyond that: you are paying more for less than what was originally shown.
>>

Yeah, sure, but they're still releasing them with the same amount of accessories as all previous figures.
Higher MSRP. Same line. Same amount of pieces.
They just didn't increase the accessory count with the higher price.
>>

>Yeah, sure, but they're still releasing them with the same amount of accessories as all previous figures
This isn't even a real talking point. No matter how many times you try and push it, no matter how many ways you twist words to say it, it's bullshit. They cut accessories from what was shown. They raised prices. There was never a baseline for accessory count to begin with in the line, so you can only base it strictly on what has been shown. Your logic is dumb, but it's not surprising considering the caliber of discourse you bring here (i.e. child-like ignorance and an inability to match wits with anybody that knows their shit).

Refute that point. Just that point, because it is the crux of everything being discussed.

No more sidestepping it with your bullshit, say point blank that they didn't take away accessories from specific characters after they were shown to have them either at cons or in promo images. So... no then? Okay. Thanks for admitting defeat in probably the most pathetic way that this board has ever seen. I like how you whimpered throughout the entire thing and then spiral into "poorfag" as a sort of insult rather than the most base level shitty meme phrase here. Then , when specific examples basically completely dismantle everything and anything you could possibly say, you claim that citing examples is, in fact, an example of moving the goal post. Because as we all know, there are no actual characters in the DC Icons line to buy, just abstract concepts.

You know what? I'll give you a second chance, because I'm nice: refute it. Next post, do it. Say that they didn't take away accessories from specific characters after they were shown to have them either at cons or in promo images.

Diamond Previews is not the wholesale price. Besides, have you looked at any distribution catalogs? Have you looked at the agreement you sign when you open an account?

All I can tell you is MSRP went up and wholesale went up with it. MSRP was $20.99, now it's $22.99.

I also noticed BBTS isn't showing list price (MSRP) as often anymore. They were in line with what I saw in the solicits. I agree MSRP is often really optimistic (you should see Figuarts - ouch) but that's irrelevant to the fact that prices across the board are rising.

Are you so intimidated by petite cuties,

so you're intimidated by females who can do more than just make you a sammich?

Nevermind you're still being a complete casual for hating on a figure that is almost perfect to the comic books.
>>
I guess no one's gonna post any shots?
>>
>>5768235
So you just want a "female" that can peg you? Neat, thanks for sharing. It's really brave of you.

>for not reading Harley
Dude... Don't throw around terms you don't understand.

>having muscles is a male thing
spoken like someone who has never had a GF

>>5768259
what do you call someone who's hating on one of the most famous character designs and comic book run?
A casual.

I get it, more people play the video games and watch the movies, and most of these people are soccermoms and their opinions are pretty shit, as that guy is emphasizing with everyone of this posts.
>>
>>5768266
A casual would be someone that likes the female character du jour being shoved down everyone's throats by a tireless marketing blitzkrieg. Harley is going to be this year's Heath Ledger Joker when it comes to fake nerds dressing up for Halloween.
>>
>>5768266
Being feminine is a female thing, enjoy your pegging, we're still amazed at how brave you are. Make sure to wave extra hard during your pride parade.
>>
For real someone post pics ffs. I don't care how manly she it
>>

Nah, a casual is someone who only likes popular things.
So something watched or bought by millions of people is very casual. Not knowing about the comics version that sold tens of thousands isn't.

It's a little sad that DC characters and their comic versions never get as much love as the Marvel counterparts.
The Marvel General is full of hundreds of fans clamouring for more comic book versions and praising them when they're given, yet in the DC threads with only 89 people, most things from the comic books is trolled like this guy >>5768285 is doing.

Does DC really attract the worst people?
>>
>>5768309
>Nah, a casual is someone who only likes popular things
You just rephrased what I wrote, but put "nah," then put an arbitrary qualifier that excludes comics from consideration. Comic casuals are just as real as comic movie casuals, and Harley is amongst the top of the casual list (in both categories, when SS comes out).

>Comic casuals
This doesn't exist.
They might know something exists and read the wiki, but they know shit about the comics and the art.

On that token, you might call me a Nu52 casual, because i sure as fuck didn't read 99% of it and hated most of the redesigns outright.

Still, ignoring one of the most popular runs for the character is casual as fuck no matter how oyu look at it, because they clearly didn't even know it existed until this thread.

Start a thread in /co/ where you say that.
>>

I cringed when I read your post.
>>
>>5768382
and like i said, not knowing about that Harley Quinn run is very casual.

And those people on /co/ are basically just trolls, since it's said to anyone who reads superhero comics. It's not a real response.
>>
>>5768394
So you alone are the arbiter of an entire term, encompassing the entire hobby surrounding an industry, and the masses that made the phrase contextually relevant are not worthy to decide how it should be used.

That's two cringes in a row.
>>
>>5748912
Any torso articulation?
>>
>>5768399
who said that?
I sure didn't.

And I'm just using the term as normally used, as stated here
>Nah, a casual is someone who only likes popular things.
>So something watched or bought by millions of people is very casual. Not knowing about the comics version that sold tens of thousands isn't.

But tell me that comic books are popular.
Go on and i will laugh at you.

There's no wrist or ankle articulation either. I feel as though the DC Collectables line is more stlye over substance, the sculpt took more precedence over the articulation and that line of thought only ended up working out for the males of the line. The females came out looking like ass face wise.

DCC is literally is style over articulation... depending on the line.
And the females are accurate to their source 99.1% of the time.

Three cringes.

OH, just this?

I'd love to see them use it for anywhere else, and not in a troll way.

post a thread or two.
