I still think it's incredible how few of these commercials I actually saw despite watching cartoon broadcasts religiously well into the late 1990s. To this day I don't know how kids learn about toys, between greatly curtailed cartoon viewing options, the disappearance of comics from general retail, and the abysmal state of toy aisles/stores.

I did grow up with Generation 2 toy propaganda, but it turns out that they were all recolours of G1 and G2 became obscure in the long run.

While I was alive for G1, I by the time I was old enough the show was over and the toyline was full of "nobodies".
G2 was amazing, bringing back all the named characters I spent most of my childhood wanting.
