So, this dropped for preorder. Anyone going to be picking it up?

>17,250 yen

I still don't understand why Sentinel charge so much.
>>
>>5704842
You could buy a Hot Toys iron man for that price.
>>
>>5704852
Where do you live where Hot Toys iron men are 175 dollars? I would love to move there.
>>
>>5704842
Yeah I have 3 of them already. Some of the best figures I own.

Sentinels QC is bullet proof and they have awesome gimmicks.
>>
>>5704861
Which ones you got?

I used to have Bleeding Edge and Extremis. For financial reasons, I sold them both but recently got Extremis back because it was super cheap on mandarake.

I regret selling off the bleeding edge so much now.
>>
>>5704856
Mandarake
>>
>>5704842
I've almost bit on the Patriot, War Machine, and Extremis on separate occasions, I think I might actually get this guy though,
on sale
like all sentinel products. That $50 Blodia was fantastic.
>>
>>5704864
Extremis, warmachine, hulkbuster.
>>
>>5704865
Damn it, you're right.
>>
>>5704868
I've been eyeing the hulkbuster but I can't bring myself to drop 300$ on one.

..damn it

Guess I will have to get it now. By the way, how much die cast has it got?
>>
>>5704887

$300 doesn't seem too bad, considering the FiguartsXChogokin and the Mafex ones are only slightly less than that. And this one looks to be much bigger and better.
>>
Anyone here have the Armorize iron man figure? How is he? I thought about grabbing him if he sizes up well with a legends figure.

I have the bleeding edge and he's fantastic. Planning on getting the black x gold as well but I'm not sure how the figures handle (joints and stuff) now that they've added die cast - hope some anons can help me out.

I think the diecast benefits the figures a lot. The bleeding edge was light and would sway from the slightest bumps.
Its well placed diecast. There isn't too much, which is good. It's only used to maintain balance. Extremis was a breath of fresh air after the bleeding edge.
>>
>>5705048
That looks so great. Does anyone have the figure to tell me if the add on armor tends to fall off or anything? I'd have to wait a bit to grab him but definitely want to.

what is the best looking iron man for under $60?

Figuarts Mark 43
>>

Because overengineering and overdesign
They're good figures, though, so they really feel worth the price

A lot.
>>
>>5705538
In what ways are they over engineered?
>>
>>5705560
There are a lot of moving parts that exist for the sole purpose of revealing inner detail that isn't *really* necessary. But it's nice no see it in action.
>>
>>5705567
That's called a gimmick.....

Maybe marvel legends is more in your budge.
>>
>>5705560
Pull up some video reviews and just watch what happens when, say, Bleeding Edge looks up. It's subtle but incredibly fucking cool.
>>

>pure toygasm

Help a brotha out: Are the knee joints and hip joints strong enough to support the weight of the entire figure? Like one legged mid-running poses and bruce lee high kicks etc without a stand?

No point to dropping 3 hundie on the most articulated hulkbuster on the market without completely out-of-character poses!
>>
>>5706053
>>5704894
>>5704887
>>5704868
If you're going to drop $300 just bite the bullet and get the Hot toy. It's only 4 payments of $185 which is a shit ton for a fucking toy, but you'll probably be happier with the end result.
>>
>>5706057
Thanks, but I like the comic design over the movie design. diggin' this thing for real and I just want to know if I'll have to tighten the joints or not out of the box.

Not gonna lie though, the hot toys hulkbuster is a friggin beast, in the best way.

>$300 is a lot, so buy this $750 figure instead.
>>
>>5706077
It's not so bad when you spread it out into payments. If you're spending big money on a toy, you might as well get the best. I understand liking the comic design more though>>5706053
>>
>>5706080
But Hot Toys is not the best, you don't have as much range of motion as Sentinel.

If you don't want to shell out the $300 or $750 though the $25 Marvel Select Hulkbuster is surprisingly really really good.
>>
>>5706057
So you're comparing a 300$ toy to a 700$+ toy?

Payment system or not, you're out of your mind.
>>
>>5706057
This trend of "just buy a Hot Toys figure" popping up in every thread needs to stop. They aren't the end-all, even for Iron Man figures. They're definitely cool, but they have their downsides, too.
>>
the Sentinel figures look better than Hot Toys and are engineered and articulated like 20 times better, it's just a matter of what scale you want or whether you want the movie designs vs stylized versions of comic designs

acting like the Hot Toys are just better makes me feel like you haven't bought both
>>
>>5706126
sentinel proportions don't even look that good, and over complex engineering doesn't guarantee shit, the kneeling pose still looks fucked.
>>
>>5705251

Thanks anon, looks like they improved the implementation of diecast compared to their efforts with the Casshern figures. Looking forward to getting this then!

Did anyone manage to pick up the black variant Sentinel Gatchaman G2? I really need one. Can't find one for a cheap price though.
>>
>>5706126
I own both. Hot Toys are better.

Sentinel are really, astonishingly overrated. It's like a cult of personality at this point, nobody wants to admit they wasted nearly $200 on figures that are passable at best.
>>
>>5706126
>>5706439
You can't really compare sentinel to hot toys. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Sentinel is all about crazy engineering and stylized designs, where as hot toys is the pinnacle of detail and accuracy.

I enjoy both and they both deserve love for their expertise in their appropriate fields.
>>
>>5704865
>>5704870
But...the shipping?

Hot toys are bigger thank these things, I seen both their boxes and holy shit, even if you get a hot toys for the same price the shipping is what will fuck you up.
>>
>>5706458
The re:edit boxes ain't that much smaller than a hot toys box. Sure, hot toys boxes are much heavier but you would pay 10-15$ more on average for shipping hot toys.

Yes you can pull off those poses, no, not without a stand.

The balance issues are built into the design man, no way around it. He cand stand and do two leg poses no problem, but balanceing on one leg? Nah son. Fortunately they include a very nice stand.

I can balance it, son. I'm more concerned about the joints being tight enough.

Can it do this pose without the knee collapsing?

>I have never handled a Diecast Hot Toys figure

HT run rings around Sentinel engineering and QC-wise for things like Iron Man. There's tons of clever stuff going on inside their figures, but unlike Sentinel they can hide it away in something that looks screen-accurate and could fit a human body as opposed to having 'stylised' proportions.
>>
>>5708952
Not that guy but I own and handled a Diecast HT Iron Man.

Nice and all but the articulation leaves a lot to be desired. That picture alone doesn't put the articulation in a good light.

Not sure why people are so afraid of saying the Hot Toys isn't the definitive version. I don't regret buying one but it's not my favourite Iron Man figure I own when it comes to posing.
>>
>>5708952

Yeah I can tell from your own picture that the articulation is kind of shit, it pulls off that pose about as well as a $20 ML, maybe worse. Just like the handful of HT Iron Man figures I own. Admittedly I don't have any of the diecast ones but if that's one in your pic it doesn't look any different in terms of range-of-movement.

Hot Toys figures look very good and very screen accurate, and they have passable articulation.

Sentinel figures look frankly a little better in terms of finish (HT uses a lot of cheap-looking gundam markerish panel lines and I've never underestood it, especially at the larger scale where it sticks out like a sore thumb) although your mileage may vary a lot as far as aesthetics, and are engineered to have WAY, WAY better articulation. Like not even remotely a contest. They just get away with all of it by having semi-original versions of designs that let them do whatever they want, and by charging out the ass for it, even compared to Hot Toys really.

I get the impression that you don't actually own both and are just trying to shit on Sentinel without any actual firsthand knowledge behind it. Maybe it's just bait and I'm falling for it lol, but I own figures from both lines and they're both nice, but like you can tell why the Sentinel figures are pricier in terms of like dollars per volume of toy, and it's because they go fucking nuts with the engineering on them, whereas Hot Toys is more concerned with screen accurate appearance, somewhat at the expense of articulation and playability.

It's just another case of "there can only be ONE good figure of xxx and it has to be the one I have because otherwise I should admit I made a bad decision". In other word : retardation.
>>
>>5705262

I have it and it's not a great figure frankly. It's absolutely the worst Iron Man figure Sentinal has made by far. But it's a really really nice LOOKING version of that suit.

The shoulder armor is like, not engineered at all, it just kind of slides on there and gets in the way of posing and likes to pop off. There's several parts that like to pop off. The leg joints aren't quite strong enough for the amount of diecast they have to hold. Idk. It's not bad, but it's not impressive. It just looks really nice and is a good visual representation of the design its based on.
>>
>>5704842
>I still don't understand why Sentinel charge so much.
Lots of parts and niche market.
>>

>I have no reading comprehension

Typical for an overspending idiot, trying to justify their purchases like an applefag.

I said they're both peers at their own field. I like both. Both Hot Toys and Sentinel are respectable toy makers and are the masters of their own style.

And you can go fuck yourself because I have owned both the 42 and the war machine mark 2 figures, you projecting madfaggot.

>>
>>5710087

I would highly recommend almost all of the figures Sentinel has made. I buy like half of them cause I really like the company.

The only ones that have really disappointed me are their EVA-01 which is kind of an anomaly among their releases and is seriously garbage and that Armorize Iron Man which is just underwhelming.
>>

I meant just the iron men. The war machine looks really cool. If you could only buy one of the ironman figures (Not hulkbuster) which would it be?

"In evolutionary biology, the term cuckold is also applied to males who are unwittingly investing parental effort in offspring that are not genetically their own. As noted above, the term cuckold is derivative of the mis-directed parental investment of birds who direct parental investment to the eggs that cuckoo birds have laid in their nests.[1]"

>>

That's unfortunate. But its there on the extremis too and its not that noticeably. It's not as bad as Peanut arts Kai knees to be honest.
>>
>>5711191
Everybody praises the engineering on these things and yet with the exception of Hulkbuster they all have sub-Figuarts/RD knee and elbow joints.

Why are the joints so thin and flat? Why are they just bare plastic with ribbing? Why do they have those obvious holes at the top and bottom at full extension?
>>
>>5711204
Why are you still baiting?
>>
>>5711209
How is it bait if it's true? I'd bet money this latest suit has some kind of triple-concertinaing panels in the backs of the legs that fold up like a piece of origami, yet they can't manage something as simple as attaching knee and elbow pads to their respective joints.
