Whelp just need an argument that lasts 50 posts and this thread is done already
What will Takara do with the Super God Masterforce characters in TR?
I already know Cancer will be present just as an headmaster with Legends Shockwave
Also TR Star Saber + Victory Leo when? Seacons when?
>>5698979
I want an mp victory leo so I can have star saber combine but I know it ain't gonna happen
Is this a better city mode from TR fort max?
My only complaint is those damn hands, something about them makes me think fort max is some creepy pedo waiting for little girls to enter his "city"
>>5699002
Also we get to FINALLY see the inside of the legs.
...very little of it at that and that'sall there is, rest of the shots are just a headless fortmax and cerebros being man handled
>>5699002
Looks good
>>5698953
Raksha are you shitposting again?
>>5699002
That's way better looking.
>>5698970
>Whelp just need an argument that lasts 50 posts and this thread is done already
UW Devs is hardly MP quality. You're welcome.
>>5699002
It's frustrating when you can just do simple little twists and flips of parts to get way better official modes than they intended. But it's better than it not being possible at all, I suppose.
>>5699010
Can someone explain the obsession with seeing the inside of the legs?
>>5699002
Better.

Crypto-Autobot.
>>5699052
Welcome to the Transformers fandom.
>>5699054
Barricade and the stunticons have no issues fitting in along with many others.
Besides autobots are pacifistic, being a dodge charger would work rather than something like a toyota yarris
>>5699058
>autobots are pacifistic
Geez. You really HAVE been drinking the Koolergon.
The grey fury
>>5699064
Front looks better than the promo shot, at least
>>5699062
I'm still all for the whole g1 consumer product vs military hardware schtick, there were exceptions like warpath of course.
Point stands, cars can be decepticons, my head cannon just needs some edge towards whatever a decepticon is.
>>5699064
>>5699065
I thought the grey was gonna be uglier so I'm happy with this.
Not so much about the hollow arms but hay its 2016, also what would takara do differently, just the forarms in blue?
>>5699067
>defending hollow arms
>any year
Hascucks, everyone.
>>5699073
>defending
>not a fan of what I'm defending
I-I don't get what you're trying to do but it hurts my head.
Also you dunce the takara version will have the hollow arms too (which is specifically the one I'm after unless another legends rewind case happens which is unlikely)
>>5699052
Theyre just looking for excuses to complain, primarily.
>>5699002
I wanna know how stable this mode is. After going through the effort to remold Metroplex, and with all the utter dedication to G1, there has to be some reason they didn't go through with the original Fort Max base mode.
>>5699087
Lazyness.
>>5699087
One theory I have is its to "modernize" fortmax, much like how generations metroplex differs alot from his old city mode.
There was an article one seibertron that had an old magazine image with him (g1 fort max) in the very city mode he is in now with the TR version, I can't fucking find it but it could also be a homage to that.
Hell maybe they thought might prefer the bigger "base" mode look since he's all sprawled out.
If anyone can find that image/see how g1 fortmax looks please post because my google skills are weak
I found fort max's guns.
They were on the shins
>>5699052
It's the same obsession with hollow torsos and the robot mode being visible beneath the vehicle mode.
Just the idea that the inside of the robot is hollow or that the robot mode is visible when the car is upside down, triggers the fandom.
>>5699052
Filling up holes is fun.
>>5699065
When I first saw the images of this guy I thought his proportions were really weird, but seeing the in-hand pictures make him look a lot better.
Plus the poster on TFW said they fixed the hands from the Magnus mold so that he can actually hold his guns better - that was one of the things I hated about Leader Ultra Magnus.
They can tab into the armor that hangs under his arms.
>>5699098
Sounds like excuses more than anything.
They're "homaging" that obviously mistransformed magazine picture because it's a easy cop out to actually trying to make the city mode.
>>5699120
>>5699067
>also what would takara do differently, just the forarms in blue?
Eh, Super Ginrai's animation colors aren't that different from Hasbro's toy, really. They're so crazy about sticking to animation accuracy that maybe it'll be close to this photosherp.
>>5699002
Alright this is good to know.
now give us the master sword now.
>>5699132
"We find excuses take less effort than designing anything. And the best part is, our supporters lap it up!"

>>5699098
>Additionally, the 1987 Hasbro toy catalog features a mis-transformed Fortress Maximus in a mode referred to as an "impenetrable fortress," essentially consisting of his city mode with the legs splayed outwards.
I was looking for this and now I have it, really TR fortmax works in either fan modded city mode or the mis-transformed "implementable forttress" form, gotta give the back of the leg detail some love like in>>5699002 right?
>>5699129
Yes, they could and they should, need to investigate this further
>>5699132
It can sorta do it, just not to exact detail.

3p's have us covered unless they're still planning the sword
>>5699140
>3p's have us covered unless they're still planning the sword
It' obvious we'll get one from either Takara or Hasbro giving us it for SDCC.
Seriously if Hasbro does a SDCC Fort Max with the sword, Ideally I'd get it.
the fact they haven't announced it yet is what worries me.
>>5699144
This is where I beg to differ, hasbro do toy homages, the master sword was an animation thing that happened in the japanese continuity.
Hasbro gave the deluxe masters toy accurate heads, takara gave us animation accurate heads whether we wanted them or not.
I'm guessing another chromed out paint job with a gun just for kicks, but I wouldn't mind being wrong, since those sdcc devastators ended up in clearances stores around the world for regular rrp of hasbro devastator, I just preferred takara's devvy to bother
>>5699144
>MFW Comic Con Fort Max has a rad sword but is covered in random patches of ugly-ass chrome
>>5699146
The only reason I think the hypothetical SDCC version would have the Master Sword is due to that SDCC 3 pack of Sentinel Prime, Windblade and Brainstorm.
On the packaging of that set Fort Max is clearly in it and he's got the sword.
I really would hope it's true, I'd love to pick one up at TFCon Toronto but that's probably cutting it close.
>>5699147
The only reason Metroplex had chrome was to be faithful to the original toy. SDCC Fortmax will likely have a proper Spike headmaster
>>5699149
For the record.
>>5699149
You people are forgetting that leaked picture from last year clearly says some shit like "exclusive sword"
>>5699151
SDCC versions of Devastator and the "G1" AOE Dinobots also had random shiny bits. They even did a shiny version of a Mighty Mugg one year. Enough of a precedent that it could definitely happen to Fort Max.
>>5699155
Still sad that Sentinel is not in Zeta Prime colors. Would mesh with the overall colors of the set well and it's more interesting than random translucent orange.
>>5699177
Yeah the SDCC set is such a missed opportunity.
>>5699177
Not to mention I see very little difference between the SDCC Sentinel and the retail one.
I guess he's got a translucent Titan Master? That's his gimmick?
>>5699182
He has alot more than a translucent titan master, alot of the figure is translucent
>>5699182
How has a third party company not made that motherfucker yet?
>>5699170
They should've made more of the purple shiny. Looks weird like that.

If you're patient and find stuff being sold directly from Amazon, you're golden. Sometimes it can be a little more than retail, though (like 1 or 2 bucks), but if you have shit distribution in your area like I do, it's not much of a price to pay.
I'd try making your orders count by buying tons of stuff at once so you can qualify for free shipping at the least (usually $35+ orders).
Wow, Blurr's mold looks pretty good.

>>5699327
Takara's might not look as bad IF they paint the headmaster a little but the mold itself is pretty bad.
>>5699327
At least not all of it is shit like the universe one.
>>5699329
nobody forced you to buy an entire gestalt because you liked a limb.
>>5699327
Apparently a headmaster Galvatron that looks terrible is better than a new Apeface (which is more than just a face).
>>5699332
Eh, with any luck some 3p might just do a big set of titans return bits to fix crap like this, a full crown-helmet for galvy, better weapons for some of the deluxes lumped with weird guns meant to seat titan masters, that sort of thing, odds n' ends to make the line better on the whole
>>5699330
Different paint won't save that mold.
>>5699337
b-but why should I have to pay for overly expensive bits just to fix what should of been done by takara?
If it was a helmet that stuck over his head making the face flush things would of been fine, let alone the fact the head is largely unpainted which is the only real fix takara is giving us.
I'd pay $4at the most for a crown for galvatron, and thanks to mandatory shipping that ain't happening
>>5699332
I won't use the crown then. Seems to be able to hide in the chest.
>>5699340
If they really wanted to celebrate the movie, they should've waited for a more normal line, forcing them into the headmaster line means everyone loses.
I swear this shitter ain't helping, the mold is solid though.
>>5699343
Can you contend with the mostly unpainted head with batffleck proportions?
>>5699344
As much of a g1purist I am its a gimmick that can be ignored, only g1 purist suffer, even then most of the OC masters are homages to them being target masters/god masters
>>5699345
Some of these look far better than the CG renders they've been showing.
>>5699345
As I said...I can paint the head if I want. And the proportions are not an issue as long as articulation is fine. It's not like all transformers have to be a certain body type.
>>5699347
It really isn't when it's a integral part of the figure.
>>5699345
I didn't even consider how much the calves may hinder knee articulation. Good thing he's not even a "kind of want" for me.
>>5699345
He could've been Nightbeat, and/or Minerva, I bet he'd sell more.
>>5699354
>parts forming head
Have people always thought this negatively about the Headmasters gimmick? Even with the G1 figures?
>>5699355
>>5699354
I'd say that when it's required to interact with to get from one mode to the other, it's a integral gimmick.
>>5699357
I was actually defending it, the head transforms yes, but it has to be removed for the transformations.
What else do I call it, titan-forming, I don't want to be an apologist
>>5699359
So whats the problem with pulling the head on and off, tell me, what does it concern you with?
All you've said is how integral it is, you haven't said if it affects articulation or just g1 cannon?
Just to add fuel to the fire, TR PMOP's head doesn't need to pop off for him to transform. So the design team was capable of making better toys but chose not to.
I'm just a little concerned
>>5699362
It means the figures heads look terrible, that works with characters who have always been headmasters since thats how their head always looked, but on the likes of Scourge or Galvatron here: >>5699317 it's just plain terrible, these characters aren't headmasters and never have been before this line, so they shouldn't be in it, let me ask, if it doesn't matter, would you rather have a Titans return Galvatron or a new generations Galvatron with a great headsculpt that isn't affected by a gimmick?
Would you believe these are mold brothers?
>>5699366
Evidence?
>>5699366
It's probably because the mold was also used for a non-TR figure. Not rocket science.
>>5699366
Cry more.
>>5699375
Yes. There's less retooling here than with Springer and sandstorm and those still look pretty similar.
>>5699374
Ah, MUCH better response.
Guess I'm too busy looking at scourge's face sculpt to ignore the back of the head kibble, being a skinny face doesn't help, and yes I agree 100% on galvatron and thus been on the fence on cancelling my pre-order.
The gimmick doesn't bother me, its the look and so far its galvatron with his crown that bothers me the most, I can forgive the rest if that's hard to believe.
Gotta say pm prime's is silly, the helmet covers the original titan master so anything stuffed there becomes PM prime
>>5699366
Shoulda posted this
I admit I've never handled the UM mold yet
This is just making me really want Titans Return to come out already.
Part one, just to show how encasing the head is.
Ruins the gimmick, sorta applies to blaster but this one covers up so much
>>5699382
So it is just because of Magnus.

>>5699318
Huge improvement over the Generations mold for virtue of not having an abdominal gap.
Plus the legs looks sturdier.

I'll admit, the alt-mode isn't much, especially without the crane staff (never, ever leave your TFs at your parents house before 'spring cleaning', I have no fucking clue what happened to it and neither do they), but I actually like the simple chunkitude of it, and the transformation is both simple and original, with touched like how the red part of the legs lines up when you fold the shins in half as well as those little blue tabs that join from the torso half to the leg half of the alt mode.
The arms might not do anything besides move around and bend, but they pull it off a lot better than the likes of generations plex, where they feel like kibble in the alt modes (I still feel that if the hands could just fold into the forearm that figure would be so much more satisfying)
>>5699434
Just crop your picture even a pixel before you post.
>>5699428

>>5699317
Okay, so if I turn his head, that crown mask thing will also move? Or is it fixed in place
>>5699294
it looks like a fucking unpainted prototype compared to takara's
>>5699443

>>5699451
>Same can be said of the no name deluxes
Actually, no, it can't. The deluxe class always has more figures released than the larger, more expensive classes, and the no-name characters are useful for filling those numbers out. The higher you go in terms of price point, the more the figures put out need to be either major characters, or offer a lot of repaint/remold possibilities, and guys like Apeface and Snapdragon simply aren't and don't.

Which we are only getting because that mold was clearly intended to be Astrotrain, which we're getting in a later wave, just like the deal with CW Optimus and Motormaster.
How do you not see how this works?
>>5699483
I think sentinel was just used so the Astrotrain mold didn't get just one use. Might as well give it to a character whose alt mode has never really been set at one thing.

Thats pretty cool. Also neat to see how far he'd come from what is honestly a pretty good custom, to a full on toy.
>>5699550
The personality is from Roberts fan fiction of Star Saber where he is a bloodthirsty warlord that was part of Jhiaxus's Decepticon Empire.
>>5699685
In his defence he didn't know what Star Sabers personality was at the time, he never saw Victory and thought of the design as a warlord type of character
>>5699691
Warlord? I have no clue how he should act but he looks like a noble knight type with his good guy colors and majestic 80s sword.
>>5699697
I never got quite a "warlord" feel from IDW Star Saber. He feels more like a down and dirty crusader who uses his beliefs to justify his actions despite what said beliefs actually say.
Rewind looking pretty good.
>>5699691
So ignorance justifies butchery? sounds like IS.
>>5699705
And new Windblade looks like a huge improvement.
The only big flaw with it is that it's an RiD toy, so it has that gigantic circle pressed into its chest.

>>5699691
Turning Star Saber's "hotblooded burning justice" into "insane religious zealotry" is like turning Bumblebee's "gets along with humans" into "has a sexual fetish for humans and fucks them at every opportunity"
It's hack writing, plain and simple. Besides, he came with Tyrest and Pharma in the same arc so his "w-well Star Saber is the only one who fits the narrative!" excuse is pure bullshit.
For those wondering, Takara Galvatron seems to use the fold-down Galvatron Crown too. The Headmaster is painted in proper Megatron colors too, so good luck getting it to look good from the sides.
>>5699712
QC's about the same all around.
>>5699710
at least it'll have functional thigh swivels, unlike the retarded ones that dont work on the generations one...
>>5699714
If we're lucky we'll probably get a 3rd party to make a regular Galvatron head that fits on the mold.
>>5699713
I like that Star Saber was in with Tyrest, because has has the same "robot in a robot suit in a robot suit" thing going on that Ultra Magnus has.
>>5699710
>No wrist swivels
>Worse face
>RiD sticker
So close.
>>5699712
One thing that annoys me is how rubbery Takara makes the soft plastic on its molds. I'm worried that Legends BA's shin will shear off or AM Wildrider's knee-spikes will rip. Hasbro uses a stiffer soft plastic that isn't as dicey.
>>5699725
That could be paint apps
Who /absolutemadman/ here?

>worse face

>At least the sticker looks cool this time.
That's the SDCC one. The retail release looks like this.
>>5699751
I know. I was commenting specifically on the figure in that picture.
Opinions on cybertron Menasor? He looks like a lot of fun.
>>5699738
I dunno about madman, but I do know my attempts to Jojo pose Defensor just leave him looking bad.
Maybe I can just say he was pretending to be stupid?
>>5699778
His robot mode is badass and reminds me a lot of WFC Omega Supreme, but his vehicle mode is just him lying down like he's about to give birth.
Crumplezone is still the best Cybertron toy
>>5699785
I liked Crumplezone, and I wish I could get the primal version easily, but I wouldn't say he's my favorite. I really enjoyed the Sideways mold even though I had the ratbat version.
Oddly enough my personal favorite is GTX Ransack. he's beautifully colored, nicely articulated, and a bikeformer. I love the little guy.

>They upped it to $50 because Amazon actually lost a shitton of money last Xmas on the $35=free shipping thing.
That and they want to push Amazon Prime which I do have and does work out since they added the discount of %20 off video game pre orders and new games for 2 weeks after release.
I also got my Groove today
>>5699796
Enjoy him, man. He's great.
>that card art will always make me chuckle. so much dull surprise
