I just spent another 45$ on Mega Bloks Warcraft sets I already own. Bought that fucking helicopter gnome thing for $15 only because I lost one single exhaust piece, only to find it second hand a couple of hours later, together with some figures and my third Horde siege machine for $10.. And I don't even have the shelf space. Ah well, one day I will be able to build a huge Stormwind battle scene, I guess. Or kill myself.

Turned out to be 17 plus one MOC made of MB and Lego. Yeah Warthogs are my favorite sets of the line and I'm loathe to pass up on good deals.

For some weird reason there were four Wolverine wheels among the bits but nothing else from that vehicle (Wolverine only has 2 of them just to make it weirder), turned out to be a boon as I gave them to that original 'Hog and used its wheels to complete the EVA's Last Stand 'Hog.
I very much regret not getting the Blue Rocket 'Hog when we still had Target here...

Haha yeah. And ironically CoD helped out Halo MB-wise by introducing a new level of articulation, I still love all my old Halo figs but the newer ones are able to pose more realistically.
Could also point out that a Halo Legendary ending isn't necessarily canon, that bit with Johnson and the Elite in CE sets the precedent heh.

Mattel acquired MB beginning of 2014, Scarab hit the shelves near the end of that year. To be fair MB did the Forward Unto Dawn set before Mattel and I'd imagine were already planning the Scarab when they were taken over.
If you do the math the Scarab is actually a pretty good bargain, comes to about 7 and a half cents per piece, by comparison Forward Unto Dawn was closer to 9 (both going by the USD price of $250). I mainly passed on the Scarab due to unsteady finances at the time but also I have nowhere to put such a gargantuan build. The regrets though...

I don't see Mega getting any of those properties. Star Wars saved Lego, they're gonna do whatever they can to keep them around. And Disney, who own both Star Wars and Marvel, seem to have a good thing going with Lego anyway.
WB owns the licensefor Lego media adaptations, so it's doubtful they'd give the license to make building sets to a rival company. Which is a shame, because the idea of a set of fantasy Mega Bloks figures with the modern articulation and customization, especially ones based on Middle Earth, has me erect.

Eh, the Covenant Storm Lance has a couple of Plasma Grenades you can give to the Grunt, but by default he comes with a Pistol.

Actually, I like blind bag Grunts, at least when they're a common like Marines or Minors, since their huge tanks usually make them an easy feel.

Seeing this really makes me wish MB would get the license for GI Joe and do it in CoD scale. Either that or their own original series with figs in that scale would be phenomenal, like unique superheroes and villains, all with an aspect of customization and unique armor, the builds could be like little battlefields or goofy vehicles. Or maybe even just another knight series, I'd buy the fuck out of that too. As much as I love their CoD sets I'm really wanting them to explore other mediums that aren't related to games.

Well, the figures LOOK fucking awesome, but the sets are all pretty bland. Most of it feels like sets that were probably made for the CoD license, but they felt were a little too futuristic.

Pretty great if you get them on sale (which seems to be almost all the time). the Arny one is pretty good, does a decent job of looking like him (for a 2 inch figure). Unlike the other guy i quite liked the sets, time machine is cool, and the 4 pack set works great if you get 2 of them as with 1 its quite small.
So the individual micro figs for the movie are about $3? I haven't seen them in store. I heard good things about the foot soldiers is why I was asking.

minifigs are classic. any changes they made would do more harm than good. the lego minifig doesn't lend itself to such articulation, it'd just look silly, and not fun silly. embarrassing silly.
the reason changing their figure style worked for mega is that they were just poorly imitating lego minifigs in the first place. changing it up and doing their own thing was the best thing for them

I think they are pretty good. QC issues early on hurt them but current figures I'd easily rate as better than comparable Lego stuff.
