Current Takara is so crazy about keeping it cartoon accurate no matter what, but the blue fists definitely look better so as to break things up more. You can get away with mostly red in animation/art since you can add shading and reflections, but it ends up looking like a sea of bleh on a toy.

The primary "point" of Takara releasing their stuff is to have that stuff available in their market. How they paint it is up to their own preference and budget, but "We must do it differently than Hasbo so the fans can have more options!" isn't their primary goal.
Even if they're based on the same thing, Takara's execution of it will be different anyway.

Takara doesn't necessarily want to do something different from Hasbro in the case of the basic color layout. Hasbro is the one that always talks about doing alternative decos for the sake of variety. Takara wouldn't default to using Japanese toy colors just because the anime colors are similar to Hasbro's. What they'll probably do is just do the Hasbro layout with more paint apps, and maybe different tones of paint.

That and I preferred the personality that thunderhoofs design made me think it was as compared to what it actually is.
Done watching RID15 season 2...and wow, they actually address the conflict in leadership between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. BB is pretty much Rodimus at this point, just that he doesn't need to give back his leader role to a revived Optimus Prime.
Old Ratchet's guest appearance is great too and helps fill in the time gap between TFP and RID a teeny bit.

Quillfire is better, but his should joints may have issues and start stressing. You can shave plastic but it's such a small amount that even a fraction off and you have arms that pop off.
Fracture is cool but at the same time boring if that makes sense.
