It's nice to see so much creativity put into Bionicle. When I was a kid I really loved them. Thing is, I loved to disassemble them,and build new things. So I ended up hating myself for the giant box of mangled pieces I created, and ultimately I kinda forgot about them. I'd really like to start collecting them again, but the last generations aren't exactly at my liking. Any suggestions? Recommendations?

Depends on the sets. A lot of the big sets or some rarer pieces like masks will fetch a good price, but most canister sets go for cheap. If you want some cash out of it you could try to split them up, but that's up to you!

If you don't like the recent ones, start with G1 Bionicles. Basically buy the ones you liked the most as a kid. There are checklists somewhere, so you can basically see every set that was available.

That's how they look before I clean them of the excess resin. I just leave them if they end up being flawed beyond usefulness (if there's a bit more dye than there should be, it can come out gummy, or sometimes there's just a giant air bubble ruining something).

(The first Mask of Water mold had been re-purposed from a flawed method I initially built it with, so the remnant of a flawed sprued system has slightly mishhapen the middle fin on the back of the head. Also, the eyes and vents could be better - pic relates shows the progress from sprue to press method)
I'm trying to figure out what to do for dupes of masks that exist in mask packs. A lot of those are still pretty cheap. Guess I shouldn't bother with more common things, like blue kakamas and such, seems pretty dumb, even to pay $1 for something that is inferior to the original in every way - when the original is only $2.
In that vein, do you think people would be willing to pay $5 for a fake of a rare part? It seems kind of a steep price, but I want to make this worth the time... I guess it depends on the part.

For the pricing, I don't know how much work goes into them so I can't give too accurate of advice. I think as long as people know about you existing, bionicle collectors will be willing to pay 5 dollars for any reproduction rares, if not more.
I don't really see much purpose in selling masks made with a faulty mold, if you can just as simply remake the mold as you would to make any new ones, but if you mean that you're selling masks made with a good mold that come out bad, you could probably do that, as long as they attach and won't fall apart or anything.
In terms of mask pack redos, I'd say only offer them if they were much cheaper than authentic ones, but at that point it may just not be worth making them, unless they're very rare (like miscolors or masks that were rare to begin with)
And along with that, I guess always just leave the option for commissions open probably. Just charge them for the price of the mask to make the mold and cast as well as extra for the hassle of making a special one.

Good points. I figured $5 was a good price point because that's about what the modalt people charged last I saw. There's the mold making, which takes a good bit of time, varies depending on mask complexity. Then the clean-up, which also varies, but at the longest is... about fifteen minutes per the most complex masks? I haven't really timed it. Transparent resin takes at the very least, two days to cure if the part isn't too thin or complex, so that's something else.
The ones from the faulty mask of water mold are all solid, it's just the little idiosyncrasies on them that make me feel they should be worth less. The only bubble masks I've made so far were done with that mold, and I did hear people say they would pay for those, so... I will be making a better mold for that design, of course; it's just that I already have about 7 completed from that mold. But yeah, if there's anything I'd consider inferior that still happens to be passible, I'd mark it down.
It's kind of funny, when I think about $5 per part, it doesn't seem like much from the perspective of someone doing the work, but for my perspective on the buyer side, it seems like a lot. Then again, I tend to be stingy about these things. The $5 price is less of a turnoff for me when I think about really rare stuff though, and I think many others would feel the same way.

Easy. The skulls got axed because they weren't parent-friendly, the torso was a temporary piece, the core removal stuff was changed because the line already had a black dude with a staff, the kneecaps were removed because they were unstable, and shoulder pad was changed because the set looked unevent without the trophy belt.

That's gay. There's all this doomsaying about the line being cancelled early (I personally don't believe it's even realistically possible, but whatever) and if that's the case, I'd want that exclusive mask to be the MoUP. They could sort of wrap things up like this:
>Makuta uses Umarak to spawn his army so they can destroy the island and seek out the Mask of Ultimate Power
>Umarak is going to use the Mask to revive Makuta who hopes to then kill Ekimu and the Toa before reforming the island to its proper glory using his mask so that all of the villagers praise him as a hero
>The Toa manage to work together in helping Ekimu destroy the MOUP at the cost of his own life.
>Destroying the mask somehow retroactively heals Makuta's corrupted spirit and the two brothers pass on into the afterlife with a peaceful understanding.

I see no reason the two couldn't work alongside eachother honestly. But I'd be pretty ok with that honestly. At least the nexo knights sets would have effort put into them.
