I like the way the bullet belts drape over the crotch region in a loincloth kind of way, but that's about it as far as design goes. I agree the integration of the two parts could be a lot better.

Y'know what's icing on the cake?

That gun doesn't even make sense, the ammo feed and ejection are nowhere near where the barrel actually is, unless this is some kind of bullet powered laser gun according to those power cables.
>>
>>5622994
Just because you don't personally like a thing, that doesn't make it pretentious.

If anything early ThreeA was the exact opposite, they were offering interesting, well-designed 1/6 figures in a completely different style from the likes of Hot Toys or Enterbay, for far cheaper prices, and building their own little world out of them. They were toys to have fun with, something that hit its peak with the Adventure Kartel figures.

Where it all started to go downhill is when Ash started chasing licenses. Too many people buying/too much exposure led to a drop in quality, spiralling delays and less resources (already spread far too thin) to do any of their original properties justice any more, and most of their licensed stuff has been subpar anyway.

It's like a lesson in how to kill a promising company.

answer my question nerds
>>
>>5621516
What's the matter, pleb? If you can't appreciate art figures then maybe you should go back to Wal-mart were you belong. I've heard they have plenty of Transformers shelfwarming for manchildren like you.
>>
>>5621744
This basically. There's kind of a creepy weaponized-mannequin vibe here that could be cool, but the execution is just so LAZY. I'm kind of amazed the gun is even a new mold. The legs are a clear reuse from the standard female buck. With better integration of the machine parts, a clearer concept, and for god's sake, a cheaper price, I might have been on board.

>>5622514
This basically. ThreeA's biggest problem used to be that they reused molds so much, but at least the molds were all GREAT back then. He needs to go back to WWR, it's what he did best honestly.

>>5624410
Did the TK Hunter come out yet? That's a mold I'm actually still interested in. That dark colorway looks great too.
>>
>>5629390
He tried going back to WWR
Did you see how awfully boring the design of Von De Plume was?
>>
>>5630900
Yeah, Von was pretty bad. I think honestly, he should go back to designing bots. There are still variations from comics and paintings that have not been committed to plastic, and I'm always down for new designs in the WWR aesthetic. I got into ThreeA for the bots, and I feel like lately we haven't been seeing many of those.
>>
Everything about this is cringe inducing.
Especially the poetry or whatever the 'fuk' the writing is.
And holy shit, the 'haute couture' brand labels on the image are a joke. Why do people buy this shit again?
>>
>>5621734
I really think Ashley Wood dismembers hooker's legs and rubs his cock all over them.

There's no other explanation for his design choices at this point.
>>
>>5630983
>Especially the poetry or whatever the 'fuk' the writing is.

Yeah somebody above had the gull to claim 3A wasn't pretentious. The false pretenses come under classifying these as art and the retarded mind numbingly stupid poetry that goes along with them.
>>
Does 3A do sales? I'd pick one of these for maybe like... half of this asking price. I don't think they're going to sell as well as planned.
>>
>>5633862

No sales but if you stalk the second hand market you can get good deals.

Really I don't see what's so super lazy about the machine gun legs really? They look like the painting and why wouldn't you just reuse an existing bucks legs when all your trying to accomplish is a pair of female legs stuck to a gun? I think the price is way to high for a figure with such limited use but I don't think the execution is so lazy it deserves to be sperghed out over.

I find it sort of strange how /toy is so enraged by 3As reusing of molds when lines like transformers, he-man and dcu do it all the time. Is it just cause 3A stuff is expensive therefore people have higher expectations?
>>
>>5634043
It's because the concept itself is fucking lazy. They could do a new mold for the legs and people would still complain how lazy it is.
>>
>>5634043
People complain about most of those lines mold re-use too, just less because they cost 1/10 as much. And the design is just lazy, it's a gun with legs. Maybe if there was like a little robot that sat on them and fired the gun or the legs were cool robot legs or there was a cool paintjob that made the gun look like a face or just literally anything else people would be more on board with it but it's just a gun attached to half a figure with a retarded price.
>>
Wait did they fucking sell out already!? How?

Are all the cylindrical robots called drop cloths? Or just that specific model from the picture? I've seen some with a rounded top, and others without the apron, but shorter arms and legs. Also one with a huge chain gun. Are absolutely none of those bots made in mini form? Anything close?
>>
>>5650180
Just that specific model. The one in your pic with the shorter legs is called a Bertie, there are some miniature versions available, there's an 8'' one available for pre-order in a set right now on bambaland. There's also Caesers, which look like dropcloths but with bulkier arms and a shield attached to one or both arms and can have either flat or round heads. All three of them have tons of versions with different weapons and paintjobs and shit available in both scales.
>>
>>5650180
Dropcloths are named for the "dropcloth" loincloth thing and are 6"

Berties (your pic is the MK II) have longer bodies, domes, and arms, but shorter legs. MK IIIs are bigger and have proportionally longer bodies.

Armstrongs are similar to Bertie MK IIs but with even shorter legs and longer bodies. They have giant backpacks for flight.

Squares are the smallest ones with either stubby legs or long legs.

Caesars are basically larger Dropcloths with shields on the arms and the option of a flattop or dome for the head.

Harolds are flattop Caesars with treads instead of legs and three fingers instead of four.

Brambles are like fatter Dropcloths.

Large Martins are the thickest with heavy artillery stuck to their heads.

If they have hands, they usually come with differing accessories.
>>
>>5650180
