The switched sometime through the line. I know Sigui has the newer joints, and so does Alice Boost. I know Echidna, Leina, Alleyene and Cattleya, Menace, and Melona don't have the newer joints UNLESS you get the Legacy versions, of the ones that do have Legacy versions anyway.
Basically, if it has a Legacy version, the original release PROBABLY had the shit, old joints that may or may not be a floppy mess. And then if it doesn't have a Legacy version, you kinda have to guess.

Well, Revoltech's are made to be taken apart, but there is one special case I can think of where putting in a new joint seems t be damn near impossible unless I'm missing something.
Echidna's middle waist joint appears to actually be a DOUBLE joint, and it's inside her in a way that I don't know how to get it out.

Easy as pie.
They come attached to runners like a model kit, so you'll need something to cut them out cleanly, but after that they pretty much just slot together like lego.
Some pieces can be fiddly so it's worth gluing them on (like the flashlight attachment on the handguns) but most of the pieces clip together just fine.
