No, part of me wants to just sell them or throw them away.

Being addicted to plastic is the worst feeling in the world. I do not even feel anything when obtaining anything new.I don't even play with toys, I'm better off with statue shit.

Yet I still buy and look at pictures of others collection, one day wishing and hoping me being cynical about it will be a phase.

I don't like your collection as I do not like Star Wars, also don't like how they're all spread out on the table. Why no shelves? risers?

No, because it's incomplete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I really can't be proud of my collection because there's always something i want to buy to finish it. Then there's the fact that i really don't think of it as an accomplishment. They're just play things to me.

I feel a sense of accomplishment from finishing a model, but they're always a work in progress, because they can always be better.

I cant really show of my collection currently because its super messy. I'm temporarily in a small space and I'm working on getting better displays

I used to not care at all about collecting toys and thought it was kind of cool at least as a nerdy hobby. But all I can imagine now is in 20 years how lame it will be to be a middle aged woman, likely fat and poorly aged clinging to a bunch of plastic like a hoarder from TLC.
It seems really pathetic and I really hope I can over come this insecurity I've gotten recently because I do truly like the hobby.

Basically how I feel
>wow im young and cute, maybe that redeems me from this plastic hell
>in 20 years I'll be old and nothing, and seem pathetic to everyone around me for continuing this

Although in general lately I've been becoming really anxious of what it will be like when I'm older.

My collection has grown over the years, I need to tidy up some so I only showed the best and favorite figures I have.

>>5589976
I kinda feel the same way too, but I usually cope with this by saying to myself, "I'm a goddamn adult and I can do what I want." If plastic toys are what you like to do, then by god do it. You aren't murdering people, you aren't selling crack or any other terrible things. You have a nice hobby that is actually cool to you. Be proud of who you really are.

What are you thinking? An old lady that collects toys? You need to think about the future and step up your old lady game by starting a collection of cats.

Pic related is an older pic of my collection, but not too much has changed. Only note worthy change is the fact that my wife FINALLY hymned my curtains, so they're only half the length now (and look much better).

/toy/ has a pretty small amount of regular posters as compared to other boards (which is why the board moves slow as shit). Are you really getting butt hurt that someone's posted their collection on multiple threads where people are posting their collections?
>>
>>5595037
I'd hardly say that was butthurt. Yes /toy/ doesn't have a lot of posters and maybe even less who will show their collection but it doesn't really need to be in every single collection thread now.

Unless it's actually gone full circle and someone else is reposting it like they did to the guys room with the R2 collection and custom built detolf corner.
>>
>>5595452
So what are the unspoken rules to when/how you can post your collection on a "show off your collection" thread?

Can he post his collection every other thread? Once a month? Once a year?

Genuinely curious, because if you're really not butt flustered by his posting his collection. You're just being a dick, and I'd like to get how your logic works

Dude, I make it a point to rarely post my collection because people like you get ass blasted about it for some reason. I posted it once about 2 collection threads ago, and before that, it had been 6 or 7 months since I posted it (unless someone was trying to troll people like you with the picture).

If you don't like seeing my collection posted, you could keep scrolling. People getting butt panged about me posting a collection I'm proud of in an image board's thread about people who are proud of their collections need to seriously pull the sticks out their asses. Does seeing a thumbnail of my collection in a thread full of other thumbnails of people's collections really cause you such discomfort?

Me here. Thinking about getting five more EFSF color Hi Zacks off of Amazon.

I wish the Titans green color ones were more common.

I took the green one out of the packaging (MSIA are really easy to put back in the package for storage or display and I only didn't open the Gun Cannon because of sentimental value) and it's a lot of fun to play with. All of the great things about the Zaku II version 2 but with new accessories.

Buy cat figurines.

Collecting things in your later years isn't all that odd. My parents are almost 60 and have their own collections. My mom collects dragon stuff, and my dad has a collection of knives and old guns. He also has some hot wheels.

I used to have some "collectible" barbies. Mostly stuff my parents gave me as a kid. I ended up giving those to my nieces. Their mom took them and put them in her collection. They weren't really worth anything, she was just being greedy.

I have a collection of Monster High dolls. I've gotten rid of some but kept the ones I liked more to display later. I have a thing for Halloween and softer/cuter horror themed stuff so they fit right in. I'm hoping when we move if I ever get my own sewing room that I can display my collection properly.

Thanks man! I really appreciate that. Room's still a work in progress, but isn't it always?

Thanks for pointing that out anon. Promptly fixed it. Sorry for the potato phone quality pic though.

No problem anon. I've been owning the original Megazord for 23 years, I guess the design is so engraved in my brain that I notice things like that easily.

Great collection and awesome display, btw.

Several years ago my wife told me to get a new hobby. This is the result. She's also got some Kamen Rider W toys and all the Sailor Moon SHF.

It really triggers my autism when people can't pose their figures properly.

>now THIS is good posing.

>poorly kneeling figma
>2 robots standing around statically
>a failed running pose that looks more like the character is laughing at a joke while falling
You make it pretty obvious when you praise your own posts, you know...

Jeez, fuck you man.

Don't ever speak to me or my toys ever again
>>

But you're the one with no good figures.

>Are you proud of your toy collection?
Yes but i wouldn't use a word PROUD.
I love toys very much and they make me happy.
But it's not a collection in term of a "collection of valuable stamps/ancient coins/cars".
Those are toys that i like. The different ones from 80s action figures to nowadays cartoon stuff.
My collection is very chaotic and contains all kinds of crazy characters and robots (not anime ones) that mean something to me.
>>5589582
>No, part of me wants to just sell them or throw them away.
>Being addicted to plastic is the worst feeling in the world. I do not even feel anything when obtaining anything new.I don't even play with toys, I'm better off with statue shit.
I've seen this kind of faggots over these years.
They all end up with a thought like this - ending up with a bunch of shitty Alien/Predator/Terminator/Pop/Anime Girls stuff and want to throw them away because all that shit makes them sick.
All because they collected it in a hype, wanted to get "all versions of this Predator" or some shit.
My collection contains some very important toys so i will never get tired of it.
>>
>>5607739
I know that feel of having ones you actually like no matter what
I also get that feel that maybe buying that $200 of lego was a mistake but usually justify it since I could always donate/sell/give to possible children
Don't know how people can stand having entire collections of static pieces when buying something I think it should either be a modular thing or truly important
>>
>>5605427
>Great collection and awesome display, btw.
Thanks man. I really need to do an updated pic. I just reupholstered my couch, and got a new X Rocker gaming chair to replay that shitty fold out one I had next to the couch.

>>5605913
I like this collection a lot. But the walls are a weird color and are kind of distracting. Really digging how you avoided a clusterfuck though. Makes me wish I could fit an extra Detolf or two in my room...
>>
>no comment on my collection
i'm taking that to mean i didn't offend anyone which is a victory in my book.

I've tried to keep less than 6 of the small figures and two of the much bigger toys per shelf. I even did the crappy extra shelf mods for some of my Macross valks.

For any of the long time collectors, what do you recommend for good stands?

I just recently nabbed a Play Arts Kai of Bogey from Vanquish for 20 bucks, and it was before they included stands in the packages. The detail and paint is great but he's rather wobbly so I can only keep him in one good pose.
