Marvel had a really cool initiative last year to put out $5 trade paperbacks in Walmarts. The first Brubaker Cap trade, some Big Time Spidey, and Bendis trash Avengers and Guardians. Carnage is fantastic
Venom Spaceknight, despite not being as good as Agent Venom, is still a pretty fun book about Flash going on space adventures.
Web warriors gets a bad rap for some reason, but I enjoy seeing the spider characters jumping around different dimensions.
Vision is the best book marvel's putting out right now.
Deadpool continues to be great because of Gerry Duggan, and he's also writing Uncanny Avengers.
The writer for Silk has also managed to turn her into an actually interesting character, and the main artist is amazing, but the replacement one sucks.
Nick Spencer writes a good Antman, even if it's not as good as his superior foes.
Captain Marvel is also surprisingly decent, and I'm enjoying Spidey and Deadpool. Fantastic art.

And just to compare, to be on the New York Times Best sellers list, you only need to sell about 5k copies a week.
Also, children's books outsell teen, fiction, non-fiction and other genres all the time. In other words, adults and teens barely read books, if any. The majority of book readers and buyers in the world are children.
So comic books out sell most books out there, every single month, yet no one calls adult fiction a dying genre.
And yes, trade sales are going up and hopefully allows more Peter David books to not get canceled.

I haven't been shopping for Legends in a while since I was finding nothing for like 3 months. Sunday we did some shopping at Walmart and I dipped into the toy aisle to see what was there. Lo and behold there was a single Spider-Gwen sitting at the front of the peg. I guess my luck finally turned around considering not only was she there to begin with, but there's hardly any paint issues with her at all.
