I bought another AvP warrior, it's still great. Our TRU actually had the wave in, finally.

Not a lot that I want right now though. I need to save up for the 1/4th chap or Pred, that could be cool.
>>
When are these fukks going to show series 2 of the HotS figures?

Well gee, SDCC is in a few months...I wonder...

So how many of these packs is everyone getting? Seems pretty cheap for what's in it. Some companies would charge 20 bucks for those Facehugger stasis tanks alone.

I'm thinking of getting a second pack to fuck around with, maybe trying to make a facehugger dissection scene using one of those hasegawa lab tables or something.
>>
>>5559797
>Some companies would charge 20 bucks for those Facehugger stasis tanks alone.

no other company would make them anyways
>>
>>5559797
Probably none. I don't have any Marines unless they make Vasquez and rerelease Hicks and Hudson.
>>
>>5559797
How much are they going to be? I went for the egg pack and I'll admit I thought those were a little expensive for what they were. But those stasis tanks look sweet as hell.
>>
>>5559954
They'll probably be the same price as the egg carton.
>>
>>5559954
BBTS has them for $19
>>
>>5559797
Now that they are separate when is the queen chestburster coming out and what is she coming with?
>>
>>5560168
Would be great if the Queen Chestburster came with the Dogburster. I'd sure as hell buy that.
>>
>>5559797
I'm getting two sets, or maybe even three. Unlike the usual approach of making an "Alien hive" that tends to happen with Alien displays, I want to line up the tanks in the back of my shelf so they add a bit of that cold and creepy aesthetic that the first two films were known for.
>>
>>5559172
I had no idea Mitt Romney was the guy who played Ash...
>>
>>5559797
I'd get two sets, but i said the same about the egg cartoon and in the end couldn't get one because of the economy crysis, so i'm saving just for the figs for now...
>>
>>5559954
Randy said the same price as a figure.
>>
>>5559797
>Set includes:
- 2 Stasis Chambers with LED Lights - Press a button to cast an eerie glow on the facehugger preserved within it! You can even fill the tube with water if you choose. Facehugger can also be removed from tube. Batteries included.
- 2 Chestbursters with bendable tails
- 2 Facehuggers with bendable tails

Alright so, it comes wit 2 or 4 facehuggers? I hope it's 2 because I don't need that many.
>>
>>5560486
2 face jiggers.
>>
>>5559965

Damn. Not that I think it's unfair, but it's still a little pricey for what it is. No way I can resist though.

He's so cool though ain't he? I didn't think I'd like him when I bought him. But that metallic sheen on the highlights really makes him pop.
>>
>>5560729
I think this is the best VGA figure they've done. It doubles as a great comic style Robocop too. Fits in with Bad Blood and Enforcer preds
>>
Is the T-800 with Plasma Rifle from the Robocop vs Terminator worth getting? I love how the deco looks with the combination of different exposed Endo parts but it has the more dated articulation of the lower torso. I know there's the upcoming VGA Terminator with the updated articulation from the Ultimate figure as well so I guess that's a possible alternative as well. Thoughts?

>>5560997
If you can deal with having less articulation then I say go for it.

Also, why not get both? The video game figures look better when they're displayed together.
>>
>>5560997
I like it a lot. The T-800 doesn't really need to be doing wild side kicks or anything and the deco is neat
>>
I posted this on the other thread but it was dying so I'll try again here.

What are everyone's thoughts on Heroes of the Storm figures, and what's Blizzard's relationship with NECA like? I got burnt heal hard on that TF2 set, because it'll never be complete. I mean, granted, I'll probably not get the entire hero roster on there, but I'm hoping for at least Pacific Rim-level of support.

They're on sale for $20 Canadian, instead of MSRP of $30, if that helps. Stitches a firm $70 at my comic book shop though.
>>
>>5561151

Where in canada?
>>
>>5560875
Yeah, it really makes me question why the simon belmont coming out is all splotchy with pixels, compared to this.
>>
>>5561157

>>
>>5561054
>>5561123
Yeah I might just grab them both since they look so good.

Also regarding the pic, damn he looks great there.
>>
>>5561171

Don't you mean eb games

Do we even have gamestops
>>
>>5561151
They're all great, although tyraels articulation is severely hindered from his armor.
>>
>>5561158

Because they're going for a different appearance with each one. I think Simon's great for what they're going for.
>>
>>5561195
It's the same shit nigga, they're one and the same now.
>>
Since NECA did figures from Uncharted, God of War, and Little Big Planet, anyone else hope that they will eventually dive into other Playstation franchises like Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank?
>>
>>5561435

I'd masturbate furiously if they did either of those.

>Wants to do pre-mutated Splinter and baby Turtles as accessories.

>Says fans of their classic comic TMNT figures should be “really happy”. Specifically mentions Video Game style and throwback style packaging. Hmmmm.

>Aliens and Predator
>Mentions they are celebrating Alien Day this year (4/26/2016)!
>More Aliens info next month.
>Predator line is planned out through Series 20 with no end in sight.
>This week, Randy went to LA to talk about Alien: Covenant (Prometheus sequel). They plan on having product for it. Can’t talk specifics.

>Other Info

>Asked about toys based on the potential upcoming The Tick series. Said “we’ll see” with a chuckle. Didn’t sound promising.
>Double Dragon and Rampage are high on his list of games he’d love to adapt as Video Game Appearance 7″ figures. They do not have licensing for these, but he’d love to do them.

Just out of curiosity.
I know the Dota 2 line isnt happening ever.
even that Neca isnt doing anything Valve ever.
But i digress

If Neca wanted, they could do LoL and Dota figures?

or the Licence guys will have problems saying "you know, we dont like that you are doing HoTS and Dota and LoL and Smite figures at the same time"

I know this is probably retarded question, but how finiki is the licence agreements?
>>

>>
>>5562768

Depends on how lawyers want to read the law I guess. They seem to be capable of pulling some loophole shit with WB at the helm to do the DC figures. But with video game companies? I don't know. They all seem to be especially tight assed, be it Valve, be it Capcom. They're far more demanding it always sounds like.
>>
>>5563073
I really doubt anyone would give a fuck that there are figures for "competing" shitty MOBAs from the same company

I'm still fighting the urge to buy those two preds. I've never liked them, not even when they were made by kenner, but seeing them in action on that damn comic makes them quite appealing.
>>
>>5563609

Hive Wars, in my opinion, is one of the sleeper hits in the Kenner line.

I think of the figures released so far, he's probably my favorite of the Kenner Preds.

That'll probably change with this next Kenner wave, as Clan Leader, Stalker, and Spike-Tail are the three Kenner Preds I have been anticipating most every since they started this Kenner homage subline.

So I got my first Alien today. I had owned some Marines before, but now the Alien is a completely different thing. My Knee joints are super loose. What should I do to fix that?
>>
>>5564761
Which alien? Big Chap? Warrior? AVP? Isolation? They have different joints, so.
>>
>>5564766
It's the Aliens Warrior from the Pack with Hicks. The one with the Splatter Head.

How exactly are the joints different with the versions?

>feeling like a massive newfag
>>
>>5564761
Brush the joints with floor polish or varnish, move the joint a bit and let it dry. You CAN use superglue but it's risky and honestly I wouldn't on a NECA figure as the weird gummy plastic they use could get damaged. That should tighten the joints up. Just don't overdo it, because if the joints get stuck there's a good chance it'll break.
>>
>>5564769
jesus fuck, be careful with the joints on that one. I went through 2 sets, both of them broke. I wanted a splatter alien, but the run of them at my local TRU are all shit.
>>
>>5564799
I've heard a lot of breakage stories regarding the two-pack aliens, especially the genocide red/black ones.

Hopefully this years Grid will be an exception.
>>
>>5564803
I used to collect the 3 3/4 inches Figures from Hasbro, never had Problems. Now I join the bigger ones and all I got is joint problems lol

At least my Hicks is good
>>
>>5564809
The Hicks from the packs I bought was fine too, I was so annoyed I just kept the hicks for myself and returned the packaing with broken alien. Nobody noticed. NECA wasted my time, and the store couldn't re-sell a broken 2-pack, so I just kept Hicks. He'd probably have just gone into the trash anyway. Although even his little backpack did break as well when I flexed the strap.

I have a red/black genocide 2-pack, and had no issues with them, nor any other aliens aside from the splatter one.

Man, I went through *two* sets, returning both of them and looking like a dufus at the return desk. Is keeping the figure from one set entitled? I guess it sounds bad, but if time truly is money, they owed it to me. Plus, like I said, it's not like it could be re-sold. The packaging is not re-sealable, and one of the main parts of the set was defective. No guilt here.
>>
>>5564821
Nope, especially since the sequel is moving forward. Ultimate Gipsy is happening and if that does well then Ultimate Typhoon will happen

Actually nevermind what I said. The knees are definitely confirmed but either those elbows are just faintly visible or he has none at all. I'll admit that could feel kind of stupid given how you see him move his arms a lot more than you saw his feet in the series.
>>
>>5566405
I think they took away from his elbow and wrist articulation in order to give the other 2 Ash's double jointed elbows

sucks cus now he cant put his hands on people's heads and kill brain cells or whatever he does
>>
>>5566593
>I think they took away from his elbow and wrist articulation in order to give the other 2 Ash's double jointed elbows

What? Why would they gimp one figure just to make the other two better?
>>
>>5566598
it's not anything surprising, it happens. They probably just really wanted Ash to have double jointed elbows, and since both versions use the same mold for the arms, they both have it.
Adding more joints = more money that's not in the budget OR they can take a little from the tooling budget for Eligos

One of the guys who works on Marvel Legends mentioned in an interview they do stuff like that a lot. He said something like "You just gotta push and pull, take away from one figure to give to another" or something like that
>>
>>5566598
I don't think that actually happened, but to answer your question: budget. Each line, each wave all have to meet a certain budget. So excess articulation or extra paint apps per figure can send things well over the line.

Again, I'm pretty sure that's not the case and we're still seeing an early shot, not the actual produced toy. Things change. Even the Figuarts Beerus lost some articulation between when it was shown and what we got. The original ED2 Ash figures got leg articulation added last minute, so things change.
>>
>>5566608
That seems like asking for trouble (or shelfwarming in this case).

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they're putting so much effort into Ash's articulation, but he has enough popularity to sell himself without it. Eligos is a totally new character in the franchise, if he's not a good figure, people will skip him. And if that turns out to be true, hopefully the sales from Ash alone will be enough to fund a second wave.

If they're worried about the line flopping, they should have made Pablo and Kelly in wave 1.

I'd hate for this to go the way of L4D and PotA lines, it sucks for all those people who bought them and are now stuck with incomplete sets.

Hope we get Ultimate Pinhead, although I doubt we will. Randy said it was a possibility waay back, but I think more recently he said no more hell raiser stuff. Really would like the rest of the Jasons in 7" form. Mostly part VII and Uber

Maybe, but this picture >>5566405 is on the official solicitation on NECAs official site, and it's the only one that didn't say "Not final product" under it

>If they're worried about the line flopping, they should have made Pablo and Kelly in wave 1.
Ehh, I feel like Eligos would sell more cus he's a cool looking monster. That usually seems to be the main rule with toy companies, monsters sell more than people. Pablo and Kelly are normal looking people. I know Ash is sorta too, but he's iconic.
And if they made 3 different characters then that would be too much money for all the different sculpts and tooling. We're getting the 2 different versions of Ash now because they recycle the sculpt to save a bunch of money, which allows us to have the articulation we're getting

Has anyone here got any of the Hateful Eight figures? Are they any good?

I watched it last night for the first time and it was pretty great.
Not sure if I liked any of the characters enough to make me want to drop £30 on a figure though.
If I was going to buy any of them it'd probably be Kurt Russel or Samuel L. Jackson.
>>
>>5566616
You're misconstruing and twisting information. It has nothing to do with the line flopping or anything like that. Toy lines are budgeted, that is how everything works. It's why Hasbro doesn't paint the backside of some MLs, or why a plastic change happens, etc etc. It's not faith in a line or lack of, it's merely how much a company can put into something before it does more damage to them as a company than profit. That's why things get cut, paint apps, accessories, articulation, etc.
>>
>>5566702

To add to that, it's just like walmart and Pacific Rim. Walmart set the price point they wanted to sell the toys at, NECA went okay....and so the paint, sculpt, size, and articulation suffered. All because of budgetting for that particular situation.

Just found Ult Eureka Striker at TRU. Really liking him and he's certainly a better figure than the old Striker, but I still wish they had improved him a bit more. The knees and elbows for Gypsy were fantastic, but his are pretty limited. And his fins like to fall off easily. But I'm really glad NECA has been delivering on accessories and effects lately. The missiles are a really cool attachment.

Actually, all the clothes are bought. The hoodie and pants came in a lot I got off eBay and when I found them too big I rummaged around my toy bin and found the Nanosuit which I intended to use as custom fodder. Loved the look so much I kept him around as a big brother for my girls. He also looks great next to the Major.

Also, Grats on that Kroenen, it's a phenomenal figure.

So yeah, a change of clothes actually turned my outlook on that figure around. I have no attachment to the character (I never even played the games) it was an impulse buy at $6.00. But those clothes changed everything. I like to imagine his personality is a mix of Vin Diesel's and Dwayne Johnson's only more obsessed with video games and anime. So he meshes well with the shenanigans of his school girl roommates.

He did need a workout buddy though, so I bought Taskmaster, whom you can see is utterly frustrated with his innecessant gaming.

I ordered the Ultimate Striker Eureka. Is it essentially a down scaled version of the 18 inch? Are any joint placements or proportions different? Which one is better in terms of proportions and articulation?

I know the Ultimate is considered definitive due to the it being regular scale, having the same panel lines as the large scale and some with all accessories(missiles and bomb).

After Ultimate Gipsy Danger, I think the line will end. Just need a Slattern to go with the last two surviving Jaegers.

As far as QC goes mine is alright. The fins aren't super bad, but they just come off sometimes when I'm actually handling him. I was pretty worried about his ankle initially though. So guys, I was wondering, what exactly are the differences between the different Aliens? I haven't read the Comics or anything. I just know the movie ones.

What about Genocide and Isolation? How are they different?
>>
>>5568831

They mutate very fast and depending on several factors.
>>
>>5568831
You mean appearance wise? It's mostly the heads that differ, some have smooth domes whereas others have a textured ones.

Not sure if it's canon, but smooth/translucent domes are what I associate drones/workers with, warriors/soldiers have matured to a point where their heads have hardened and grown ridges.

Other aspects of appearance depends on the host creature. Like for example the dog/ox alien in Alien 3 was quadrupedal because its host animal was too.
>>
>>5568843
>>5568842

I was thinking about the Action Figures, but thanks for both answers, since I have no clue about in canon whatsoever
>>
>>5568847
Neca's genocide aliens are repaints based off the 'Aliens' movie alien warrior design. The Isolation alien is a repaint of the original 1979 'Big Chap' with modified legs.

The Kaiju on the other hand are complicated after Hardship, all of remaining ones are either too large or have very elaborate designs and there's zero chance to retool, I can see them doing Karloff as an exclusive and perhaps a new Leatherback but right now I don't think we'll ever get Slattern, see for example how long took for the Alien queen to get made.

AvP preds.

Striker finally showed up and man, the hips are as bad as I feared, they literally feel more gummy than the ones on my series 2 striker. I don't know why they didn't use the same type of pegs they did for stuff like cherno and romeo.

I found pic related at a flea market awhile ago for cheap but never opened it, I bought the AVP alien a few days ago and just opened it. It's fucking awesome. Is pic related pretty much the same figure? Is it worth opening?
>>
>>5576231

It's not the same at all. At least articulation-wise... The AvP alien is pretty incredible.

Big Chap is more limited, but it's true to how the creature was in the film...what with it being a large black man who didn't quiiiite crawl around like an animal all the time. Good figure, just be patient when moving the articulation. Use the boil method if you need.
>>
>>5576231
No where near the same figure. The AvP aliens look completely different than the big chap from the first movie. Also being one of their earlier figures its not as well sculpted, painted, or articulate as the later figures.
>>
>>5576263
>Also being one of their earlier figures its not as well sculpted

Uh...no, you're wrong there. The sculpting is great. This isn't the first Big Chap, this is the newer one with the better articulation. And the paint's good too...for a black xenomorph.

Super new at the Neca stuff -

I've been thinking about getting a predator, and I'm curious, are the masks molded on or do they all have faces underneath?
>>
>>5576378
>are the masks molded
on the movie predators and most of the Kenner predators (I believe)
cus really, its physically impossible to fit the predators face under the mask, the actual movie costumes couldnt do it.

Also, for best predator results, make sure you get the ones from the AvP wave and beyond, SO much improvements from the previous ones

If you want an ultimate Jungle Hunter from the first movie theyre gonna do that eventually with all new articulation too
>>
>>5576287
I guess the sculpting is great. But the paint could be better, should be more copper than black and the bland paint doesnt help wih bringing out the sculpt.
>>
>>5576378
Short answer--it depends. So far the only ones with removable masks look to be Nightstorm and Scavage, Viper, and a bunch that aren't out yet. Everyone else either has a static masked head or unmasked head.

I think some of the upcoming guys like Scarface and The Ultimate versions of Jungle and City Hunters (the actual guys from the movie) are going to have swappable heads

The top of the wrist computer can come off if you heat it up enough, once you take it off the wristblades can be removed. Obviously you're not supposed to which is why it's glued on, but it's useful if you get a predator with upside down blades, which can happen from time to time.

The new AVP Preds are reportedly great, I don't have any because I didn't like the way they looked in the film (looked like they were football players with big shoulderpads) so I'm waiting to get just one from the next wave. But they're great.

I like any with weird colours or unique designs, so I'm all over Big Red, Dark Horse, Kenner Preds, the video game figures, etc.

Skip the Predators (2010) film line, they're all outdated as hell

Yeah. Luckily the plastic on the bootleg was rubbery enough to just carefully pull it off.

I got the fists off, also. Had to heat up the new fists to get them to pop on the first time but it's fine now. Shame they don't hold the swords well, but that applies to the real thing too.

Still haven't gotten the lower knees or waist to budge, haven't had time to boil it

Can you take some clearer photos of it?

The paint looks decent but not quite as good as the real thing, but that could be your potato camera :^)

Is 2016 Kratos rare? I may want one down the road but at $40 CAD, I can afford to wait.

Unless I can't. In which case I can't afford to wait.

Its probably not even a real "bootleg", just a factory defect. Hence the upside down wristblade. So in reality you just got a NECA that needed a little love.

Yeah those swords are bunk I gave him a Marvel Legends (Elektra or Ronin I think) sword. Way better.

There's a shitload on eBay though, and they also have City Hunters. They seem a little too mass produced to be legit. But hey, if they are all rejects, then you should snap it up while you can.

>those midget swords

They're human swords. Of course they're going to be smaller compared to a Predator.

I always thought that was a retarded explanation.

Give those katanas to Dutch and tell me those are in-scale with a human.

The katanas Big Red comes with look like they're scaled to a 3.75" GI Joe. Not a 7"~8" line of figures.

Which versions of Ash have fabric?

In terms of design or figure? The best figure is the dog alien and the best design is big chap.
>>
>>5578043
I agree with >>5578084, Big Chap is my favorite Xeno design, but Dog Alien figure is awesome. I do think however that the new AvP Warrior might be on the same level as the Dog in terms of cool figures, both have lots of good articulations and look great.
