I actually gave in to Lego's marketing at the start of the year and bought a Nexo Knights set, and the little fucker in there doesn't even have the articulation to hold his lance properly. Might be because a big part of their characters in last year's animations was their rivalry for leadership. Journey to One aimed to show the Toa as an established team and had a different conflict to spend the very limited runtime on, so they had to do something entirely different with them. Sup thread. Im very new to bionicle but was into Lego for years. In fact...i actually own only 2 sets.
But i instantly was interested in bionicle when i bought this Skull Scorpio yesterday.
As i understood (by watching youtube) Skull Scorpio is one of the most hated and ugly sets ever, but i actually like it by transparent acidic green colors and menacing insect/arachnid look.
So i bought 2 of these sets and tried to combine them and ended up with this.

I just didn't like those technic parts that "ate" too much space of scorpion's design.
I don't have any of those in own stores but already want to order few creatures (especially Uksar - it has my favorite jaw/trap thingie) to use them as parts.

I used to be all down on the Mask of Regeneration,
until I fount out it doesn't regenerate shit and is more a mask of repair, so I don't actually know now. The Mask of Healing, on the other hand, doesn't have any fucking confirmed shape, so can't use that. The Mask of Life would be a dead-ringer for my preferred mask were it not for its power to instantly take life as well, and the rarity of it in any setting makes any self-moc using it mary-sue turf. I like the shape of the Mask of Control, but we have literally no clue as to exactly what its power is, so I can't say I'm down for it either, and it also suffers the same situation of the mask of life as too rare and important. Olmak is also cool looking, but also like the other two, albeit half as rare relatively.
I am a torn man, all the mask I like are either too rare, not actually what I want, or only existent in text form. I guess Onua Mistika's Pakari looks like a dinosaur-face slightly, so that's cool, and Onua Mata was my first bonkle ever, so I guess until powers and/or pictures are sorted out for some of the other masks, I'll go with some Pakari variant.

I never played with the Technic stuff when I was a kid so I avoided Bionicle/Hero Factory/Etc since its inception.
Pic related, I picked this up on clearance at Target for $20 just for Grievous (which is like $37 by himself), assembled him yesterday.

So a while back i came across a figure of macku in a bulk lot with most of the 2001-2 sets. It's a normal in construction, but is painted with maroon/dark red all over. It looks too professional in the body/head area to be a custom, but the arms and legs are almost a different color. Anyone know what this could be in reference to? are you talking about how those +o pieces connect to the piece of unity? its illegal if you do it in the order the instructions say, but can easily be made legal by putting the blue pins in the +o pieces all the way before putting them through the unity piece, which allows the blue pins to stick all the way through the piece rather than be stressed due to being only 90% of the way in.

This is why large hero characters is a bad idea. The Inika build caused this problem in G1 as well. When you have smaller toa (like the mata), then you dont have to make the villains as big in order for them to tower over the toa and look imposing. Since there is a strict upper limit on how big a lego set can be, then if your base characters are big, everything is only going to be slightly bigger than them.
Also UtD is as tall as Hunter factoring in the Antlers, if you take the antlers off Destroyer is imposingly larger than Hunter (not tiny upper legs would have been nice though).

I'm still happy that we got the actually threatening winter wave villain we've been asking for since last year, but making Umarak smaller and less imposing in his base form would have gone pretty well with his character. How does /biog/ feel about adding movement to scenes using pieces ? Pic related is an obvious example, but imagine adding some slashing effect on a blade to describe the movement it takes. I have an exhibition in three weeks and wanted to do a battle scene with two characters using this kind of effects to imply more dynamism.
