What's even next that comes out? The new AvP wave I guess? I don't think I have anything to spend money on this month. It's kinda nice. Haha.

Trying to pic my next Xeno, hard to choose just one from the last wave.
What's your favorite so far, guys?
>>
>>5539752
I don't have the new wave yet, my favourite so far is probably the Isolation xeno cause it combines the cool milky dome with the nasty looking slimy brown body. And it has the cool digitigrade legs like the dog Alien, which makes it look more menacing as a creature compared to standard humanoid legs and feet.

>asked NECA if they offer replacements to non-us residents to see if I could get a new Grid leg
>they don't "currently"

guess i'll have to see if my constant money spending at Fantastic Toys would let me get a return.
>>
>>5540366
I did something similar.
Because the hand pegs of my dante figure broke up instantly.
I send a mail to them saying that BBTS couldnt give me a replacement because they have a 30 day policy
In less than 30 minutes, i had magically 17 dollars in credit at my BBTS account.
I guess they contacted them instantly to give the part Neca get to me.

And later i got a mail telling me where to send the replace pieces.
They told me they cant send outside the US, even if it is 2 small hand pegs and 2 sword hands (the peg broke inside the hand)
So i have a familiar there, but yeah, with out it, i wouldnt be able to get the new pieces, and i have to wait until i can get it some day.

Hope some day they can send replace pieces outside the US.
>>
>>5540366

They never have and probably never will. I remember when they said that they'd be willing to send the missing disk from the JH/CH Predator 2-pack to everyone who bought the set. When I asked them, they said they'd do it until I mentioned how I lived in Australia and they suddenly went quiet on me and never replied back.

If I spend $28 on a product, they should at least offer to replace the thing if their quality control is garbage. Grid Alien has been reported by NECA themselves as having shitty legs. Shame they can't replace them for international buyers, especially considering we pay near double the price.

Damn, is that true? Guess I have more reasons than ever to wait for the Celtic vs Grid 2-pack now. Hopefully they fix whatever's wrong with him by in the meantime.

>>
>>5540712
Possibly those expecting an improvement over the original Aliens..? Excuse me while I laugh heartily at such naivete.

NECA has always been like this. They make awesome and detailed toys and sell them for cheap. Corners have to be cut somewhere (it's the American way), since only delusional weebs are comfortable dropping $50 on a toy. Gotta maintain that price point.
>>
>>5540712
>I think it's just people blowing shit out of the water, like always.

NECA having occasional hiccups with their QC isn't really new though. Better that it's actually reported here so people know what to be careful with instead of just blindly buying without knowing at all.
>>
>>5540723
>tfw you live in Australia
>tfw buying weeb figures online basically costs as much as buying a NECA figure due to the overseas price markup and shipping

It's why I always prepare for the worst, praying to the skies every time I open a NECA figure I bought online.
>>
>>5540733
Ok, I do feel sorry you. That sucks. Their figures definitely aren't worth that and I'd personally probably never pay that much for one of their basic figures.

>>
>>5540734
I've had a lot of NECA figures break on me in the past and no I don't ham-hand these figures at all, in which some simply broke out of the packaging while some had warped parts/joints. I'd make a list but I don't want to come across as bitching about them since I do actually like their figures.

That said, I've been on a pretty lucky streak with their recent stuff (Dog Alien, ALIENS Ripley, Alien: Isolation lineup, all Ultimate T2 figures) and I'd love to keep it that way.
>>
>>5540747
They seem to always be making little tweaks here and there, which is great. You just can't expect a huge production overhaul without a noticeable increase in price, unfortunately.
>>
>>5540749
This, we're lucky we pay what we do now. It's not going to last though, I'm sure of it.
>>
>>5540702

Did you even read the articles you posted?

In this article, the guy outright says he's never had any problems, only heard of them. The one figure he thought he had a problem with (that he thought came with two of the same hands) end up not being a problem because he realized later they were different hands for different accessories.

This guy actually makes some fair points, but some of the issues also seem like his fault, like breaking his Predator blades. They're thin, fragile pieces of plastic, and they're going to break if you're not careful. The same could be said of any company that makes tiny accessories for their figures.

This article is literally from 2007 or 2008, about NECA's first versions of the Aliens Xenomorph, and their first Big Chap. Most of the issues here aren't even applicable anymore.

Randy himself did admit that the Superman figure had QC problem. He was actually confronted about it by Pixel Dan in his Toyfair video, and admitted that it didn't end up being such a great figure due to the factory, and they sent out extras to anyone who contacted them about a broken copy of the figure.

>Not to mention the "entire" TF2 line and early Pacific Rim figures

Never owned any of the TF2 figures, but I have certainly heard a lot of complaints about them. Frankly, it seems like a line of figures that they weren't too attached to the source material, so they cut some corners. Not so good for fans of TF2, no.

And it has been explained time, and time again why the first two waves of PacRim figures weren't very good.

I don't know about "soon" but probably somewhere in the next year or two it will hit again; Big Chap is the most iconic Alien design and he can be reissued at any time and make guaranteed money.

If you just want a Big Chap style alien the Isolation Xeno is a good substitute. He has the Dog Alien legs instead of Big Chap but I prefer that look anyway, and he retains the clear dome. Or if you don't mind the colours, you can still easily find the Kenner style AVP two pack which has an all black Big Chap and a good Jungle Hunter Predator for under $50

Looks like Big Red bootlegs finally hit.(or I am really slow to realize this)

It doesn't look that bad!
>>
>>5544806
The wristblades are upside down :^)

I wouldn't chance it, I bought a bootleg Jungle Hunter a while ago just to test the water for NECA bootlegs and it turned out to be total dogshit. Awful paint apps, looks like it was dipped in mud, and the articulation is loose as fuck, to the point where the legs can fall off the crotch piece.

This is pretty frustrating, the peg has a decent hold without the rest of the body attached, but once you put the xeno crotch piece in between there's not enough friction to hold it all together. The neck joint is also extremely loose,

It looks kind of broken inside the socket, there's not really anything there to grip onto the peg.

LOL all these fucked up alien hips. What a shitty design.
>>
>>5545910
>>5545913
>the fuck happened?

The knees were stiff when I got him out of the packaging, so I gave him a bath, when I took him out of the water, the legs disconnected at the crotch and I couldn't get them back together.

The problem isn't actually the legs themselves, they're fine on their own, the problem is once you factor in the heavy upper body, and the very minimal amount of friction keeping the peg in the socket once the crotch is in between them, it makes for a very loose and unstable figure.

I don't know what the water did to the figure, there is no physical damage or missing pieces, the legs simply cannot hold the weight of the figure, and I have a feeling the stiff knees were the only things keeping it together when I first removed it from the packaging.

Anyways sorry for the essay, I just wanted to explain what happened properly so others know to be careful with their figures. The Isolation alien is the best xenomorph figure I own, in terms of sturdiness and joint strength, I didn't even have to use hot water to get the joints working and they all feel very strong, and it can stand on its own (using the tail for balance) without using the supplied stand.

>>5545957
I agree, it's a step backwards compared to the dog alien and the Isolation alien.

I envy those who got a problem-free figure, but this seems like a problem that could easily develop over time.
I advise anyone who has Grid or the AvP warrior to be extremely careful when handling them.
I'm pretty miffed cause it's a really cool looking alien, and I had no problems whatsoever with Celtic, Chopper or Scar, I was hoping the QC issues were a thing of the past.

>>
>>5546373
>>5546444
>>5546849

Why are you guys thinking that pic is multiple packs?

It's pretty obvious that that is going to be one single pack. The Alien 3 pack is the one with the royal facehugger, and the miniature/infant dog (or whatever) and some other stuff.
>>
>>5546852
>Why are you guys thinking that pic is multiple packs?

You're right. I just assumed the pic they posted was the split creature pack.

That kinda sucks though, I don't really want to have to buy six chestbursters and facehuggers just to get six canisters. I already have three facehuggers from the egg carton. I'd be more sold on it if they re-tooled the facehuggers into a coiled tail/impregnating pose.

Facehuggers that can't hug faces seems redundant.
>>
>>5546859
do you want a static accessory that just slips over neca heads, maybe with elastic material to stretch? Because that's the only way I could imagine a facehugger working at that scale.

Pretty much yeah, I want a facehugger that's pre-posed like this, with a bendy wire tail so it can be adjusted to accommodate larger necks.

It won't work, bendy wire like that would break before it kept the shape to actually wrap around anything.

>>
>>5546956

They do, but they're not strong enough with the plastic around them to wrap around necks to the degree that you want.

>>5546954

Because I'm using my brain?

Because I know that thing wire like that can break under too much stress. Because I know the plastic around it won't hold that kind of shape. It'd HAVE to be molded in a wrapped around fashion.

>>
Man, Neca REALLY fucked up with this series of Xeno. They better get their shit together.
>>
>>5550843
I think that's a bit harsh.
Though it does feel like they've taken two steps forward, one step back. The AvP predators are amazingly sturdy, I haven't heard of a single case where a limb has snapped off of Celtic, Scar or Chopper. The AvP alien warrior is amazing, the sculpt is great, the paint apps are spot on, the shoulders, elbows and wrist joints feel solid, but those damn legs...

My figure isn't even broken, it just won't stay together. The legs do not support the weight of the upper body. I feel like a broken record at this point, but I can't get over how frustrating it is to have a figure which does not function properly. There's nothing snapped or damaged, the legs just won't stay on.

OK have both of the translucent big chaps together and they have 2 different paint jobs one is a solid bone color and the other is alot more of a translucent paint job

The pic isn't the best but I hope you can see the difference.

Any one know why they are two different paint jobs

Ultimate Leatherface or Retro cloth?

What's the deal with all those broken hips on the avp xeno? Are they broken at all or they can be plugged back?
Also, could it be fixed by drilling a metal rod between the hip joints to keep them in place?

After opening one up I can say this is a fragile figure. The chest joint is extremely loose as well as the inner mouth. The clear dome almost came off when I was posing it.... I still like this figure but damn you have to be very very gentle with it.

I need some good stands for these figures. It'll have to wait till payday next week

'Unexpected variations during production' or something like that.
The bimbo that uses her sugar dady's cash to buy aliens was asking the same thing a couple weeks ago and that was Randy's reply.

Well I suppose that is an explanation.... But the difference is drastic... Almost like they are 2 variants of the same figure. If I had to choose one I'd want the solid bone white one but that's for my son and will be his first xenomorph so he gets the good one and the one I opened up is the translucent one.... I just opened it and you can see my impression >>5552497

No he is my middle son... Second of 3 with my ex wife... My gf bought me the translucent xenomorph I bought him the bone one on a different occasions.... I had both unopened and was tempted to keep the better paint job but he has my love of the xenomorphs and so I'm getting him this one for his first one .... I'm not who ever you are thinking of.

>he gets the good one and the one I opened up is the translucent one
But the translucent xeno is the good one!
Make sure to get him some kenner aliens when they come out.
>>
>>5552531
When I showed him my warrior and gave him the option of the 3 in series 7 he said he wanted the bone xenomorph so that's why I gave him the solid one...

I actually used to have the some of the Kenner aliens when I was a kid... I even sent away the proof of purchases for the clear stealth predator.

I will most assuredly be getting those if neca remakes them like the rumors say

I wish I had kept them but I gave them to my cousin when I was an older teen and was getting rid of all my old toys.

>>5550886

ayyyyy lmao

>>5552502

I guess that explains why mine and Catanons both have shitty legs. Probably came from the same box/factory.

>Ultimate Leatherface or Retro cloth?

Ultimate is more in scale with other NECAs

>>5552436
>>5552440

Mine can't even get back into the leg hole. Kill me.

>>5552487

I assume the factory messed up a few boxes or something.

Wave 10 is Kenner Aliens. They haven't been shown yet and won't until SDCC, but they do exist. Next wave is Alien 3, then Aliens, then Kenner.

I think Snake Alien and Scorpion Alien are good bets for sure.
