I bought two WoN Bowsers from Toys R Us online just in case one had shittier paint than the other. Sadly some of the black is ingrained into the plastic and I have tried sanding and rubbing alcohol with no luck.

I'm not as an alternative about it, but paint apps are a reason I stopped buying star wars black series figures. The good ones are still poor and the bad ones are horrid.

I've been pretty lucky with getting decent paint apps. All I really ask is solid edges and even faces. But I was at a store a few months back that had some Jaynes (Funko Legacy Firefly) and all had his beard painted on the side of his face...

Paint apps just have to be "good enough", but i wish for the return of complex paint apps.
Fully painted figures, instead of the cheapo colored plastic we mostly see today.
I try to, but there's special levels of autism I just can't reach, like that Transformers collector who opened and kept returning 8 copies of a somewhat rare collector's figure because the rear light was painted somewhat wrong. I cringe at shit like that. he ruined it for literally everybody in his area who wanted that toy.

I inspect my figures thoroughly and if I find any deviations from the factory sample that means I have to take another roll at it. The biggest problem is that you never know if the new figure is going to have flaws too.
