Hey, so I'm kind of shit with this so I apologize. I bought a Detolf a few weeks ago, and have not gotten lights for it yet. I figured I'll go with the dioder lights since that seems to be recommend.

How exactly do i go about rigging this thing? For one, I already plugged up that little hole in the top, although I suppose I can unplug it? Do I put the light through there, and then wrap the cords behind the Detolf and to the nearest outlist? What is the best way to not have the cord showing at all? I suppose perhaps, stapling it or something to one of the corners, all the way down the Detolf?

Thank you
>>
Also if you don't mind, one more question... How do I get the dioder lights to stick to the top? Are they sticky or do they come with screws or something or do I perhaps have to have screws extra? Thanks.
>>
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They come with screws and adhesive strips. Whichever you prefer.

>>5415252
You run the cords along the sides to the hole.
>>
>>5415252
>not shining light from every layer
>lowermost levels pretty much unlit
That's retarded.
>>
>>5415427
Thanks

>>5415629
So, do you suggest a dioder for each layer? At 25 bucks each, that would cost 100 bucks. Any cheaper alternative...?
>>
>>5415834
You don't need 4 for each layer dude
>>
>>5415846
Hmm, so one for each layer, so I'd only buy 1 pack of four? Wouldn't that look odd with just one strip on each layer, it wouldn't be around the cabinet symmetrically, just on one side on each shelf right?
>>
>>5415864
You don't need that many. They're pretty bright. It's about where you place them.

Anyone considered getting these or anything similar
>>
These are what I got. Stuck them up one side along the metal post, across the top, and down the other side where the plug runs out through the gap between the door and the side panels. Works really well, very bright.

These are great! I got them for my Detolf as well and rigged them pretty much like you described.

Thanks, that looks great

Do you have to buy the adapter? And how many of strips did you buy? Just one for 6.99?
Thanks again
>>
>>5416381
Yeah I bought the adapter and it's just one strip.

>>5416377
It looks as shitty as college students that ironically put christmas lights up in their rooms.

Is the light about the same temperature IRL as it is in the photos? Also I passed on these before because I'm terrified of the whole cutting and splicing thing.

Get on my level. 11m of LED strips for less than 20$, a good power supply and a dimmer/PWM module.

Thanks for the laugh m8.

This looks pretty neat, anon. Are the strips hidden behind something? Is it part of each shelf or are they something you added when installing the strips?
>>
>>5417983
go to bed gramps
>>
>>5417599
Yeah they're a bright white. Also I didn't have to splice anything. I just trimmed it once at the closest spot I was able to. The instructions are very clear on how to trim these.

>>5416377
I take you have not had these long
>>
>>5418798
About a few weeks. Why?
>>
>>5418798
I'm thinking about purchasing them. Is there something wrong with them? Is there another brand I should get?
>>
>>5418668
>go to bed gramps
wat

>>5418468
>Are the strips hidden behind something?
I added 45-degree wooden profiles on which I could stick them so they're shining at a nice 45 degree angle into each layer.

I start with what I have, then replace stuff as I go to focus on cars 1:18, cars 1.43 and H0 trains.
