Honestly i'll probably pick up one of his black series figures now, he was pretty alright in the actual movie.

Anyone know when the one of him in FO armour is coming out?
>>
>>5355405

They even got the clueless look on his face.
>>
Super detailed face. Hands look like Chubb's fake hand from Happy Gilmore.
>>
>>5355416
>liking the character
See this is why his Black series figure sold like complete shit, he was a boring looking character that literally no one had seen!
>>
>>5355507
More like the movie wasn't out, you'd be stupid to buy something that doesn't look cool/isn't a Stormtrooper.

At least he did something in the movie, considering trading/getting rid of my phasma for him since she did absolutely nothing. Very disappointed man

He tried to give the jacket back and Poe said keep it, he was forced to take the lightsaber, so I don't see it.

He is not black, he is British.

I thought he was a decent character in the movie, and am like 60% more likely to buy figures of him now.

But he's still not a super interesting design to lend to figures. At least not yet. Maybe he will get geared up in the coming movies.
>>
>>5355405
I would.

I want to buy his Black Series fig before christmas discounts are over, shame he doesn't come with a lightsaber.

It's pretty unlikely, since most companies have noticed what has happened before from other companies and their products, and have taken steps to prevent it.

To be fair Ray looked equally as dull in the trailer and yet her toy sold like hot cake.

Hell Fins character was even shown using a lightsaber in one of the trailers and it still didin't help his sales .

>>5358231
probably because, a) she had BB-8 with her and b) Rey looked cooler in the trailers and stuff, we didnt see much of Finn really
>>
>>5357096
guess what- companies don't care if their products fall apart 5-15 years later. They care that it survives long enough to not break within the store's return period. They aren't going out of their way to make these things hold up over time.

Most toys are for kids, and companies just assume the kids will grow tired of them within 3 years, or just wholesale dump their collections off when they reach a certain age. With Hot Toys, they've shown plenty of times that some of their stuff just degrades after so many years, yet since it doesn't affect the sales of their overpriced dolls, it's not their problem.

They aren't going to stop long-term yellowing, GPS, or anything of that nature. It's not worth the extra cost.
>>
>>5358569
>buy lego
>don't keep it in direct sunlight
>lasts forever
some companies care anon
>>
>>5358231
Rey came with BB-8, and Finn didn't come with the lightsaber he was shown with in the trailers. If he had come with the lightsaber instead of his goofy looking blaster I'm sure his toy would have sold more.
>>
>>5358581
It's less "they care" and more "random chance". Nintendo expected NES backup batteries to last 5 years at the most. The fact a lot of them still work is a happy accident. The fact a lot of 80s toys haven't broken apart is also pure accident since that plastic wasn't too likely to hold up. Well the GI Joes didn't, the once flexible plastic turned rigid do thumbs snap off, ankles crack around the stand peg holes and stuff like the Defiant will shatter like glass. But that line belongs in the trash.

Matter of fact, with newer materials available now than back then, materials that are cheaper, mixed with deliberate cost-cutting and planned obsolescence, stuff made today is less likely to hold up over 30 years than stuff made in the 80s. More moving parts and more complex parts in electronics leads to faster failure, no one is expected to keep their device when a new model is out every year, and stuff like TF Generations feels so cruddy I'd wager they will not hold up well even 10 years from now.

And even lots of Lego fans are saying the current stuff feels lesser quality than ever before.
>>
>>5358569

There's a bit difference between a product falling apart 5 years later and 15 years later, though.

And most game systems, even stuff from the 70s still works. It really isn't even all that surprising to at the very least find original NESs and Sega Genesis systems and games that work perfectly fine.

The plastic discoloring is totally different from the system just not working at all anymore.

And a system not working at all anymore (because electronics just eventually degrade anyway) is way different from a toy not working.

>Hot Toys are worth $300

this is what morons believe.

And trust me, I've been to the 1:6 Warriors forums- "morons" is apt to describe 1:6 collectors. They don't know how to handle money. They're as bad as retro game collectors.
>>
>>5358569
>companies don't care if their products fall apart 5-15 years later.
But you're wrong.
Companies care about how long their stuff will last because many people keep their products for a life time. Most people remember what products go to shit fast and AVOID buying it.
Companies like Hasbro, Nintendo, LEGO, and almost every major company who makes products have taken measures to be known as a reliable goods company.

>>5358596
>stuff made today is less likely to hold up over 30 years than stuff made in the 80s
wat
Electronics, yes, because of materials being made from cheaper stuff and forced compliance with EPA laws/rules (ex: lead solder was super durable and the environmentally safer ones are shit).
But plastic toys? Most toy companies have been mixing in anti-oxidants with their plastics so that they do last longer and the paint/pigments remains stable.
Stuff like the SNES changing colors was purely an unforeseen problem, because sometimes two compounds that are known to be durable and long lasting, when mixed together can fuck each other up, in ways that they didn't know would happen.
So with most things today, if they fuck up it's because the reaction was previously unknown, because most companies today do want to make long lasting goods.
>>
>>5358765
>But plastic toys? Most toy companies have been mixing in anti-oxidants with their plastics so that they do last longer and the paint/pigments remains stable.

I'll believe this if these things are intact within 30 years, I won't believe company PR lines now. These newer plastics also tend to be soft than old plastics. Knowing how shit that TF Generations feels, I'd wager many of them will just break apart like saltine crackers after a point- some of them do straight outta the box, really.

>i'll believe the opposite, inspite of no proof for that
Whereas right toys since the 90s and 00s are already 10+ years old and are showing no visible signs of degradation. Degradation is linear, so if they were going to rot within 30 years, they'd already be showing signs.
They're not going to suddenly turn into dust or splinter.

I have GI Joes from the 2002 GIvsCobra line that are almost 15 years old and have no problems. No signs of plasticizers leaking, the first sign of plastic becoming brittle. Paint still as bright as ever. No dingy whites. They could be considered brand new.

GI Joes from the 25th line? Almost ten years later and no problems either.

I have a bunch of dolls from 21st Century, Hasbro, and other random companies from the 00s and they have no problems either.

Other lines from the early 00s that have no visible problems Kotobukiya, Kaiyodo, McFarlane, random gashopon and blind box companies... even fucking Takara, but their shit could break straight out of the box and anything that didn't hasn't had a problem.

morons who waste cash on junk, when they could either save it for emergencies, or use it to better society. Toy collectors, gamers, rich celebs who live in mansions yet cry that MP3 downloaders are robbing them blind, etc.

Just amazes me at times that society is in the shitter yet someone with a good $50K extra money a year wastes it all on NES cartridges or plastic children's toys, with no thought to dropping even a quarter of that into a donation bucket.

Meh whatever, Trump's going to initiate WW3 and we'll all be dead the second someone triggers his sensitive nerves, so I guess it don't matter.
