So I decided to swap the weapons of Off-Road and RID Fracture. I feel Fracture's weapon is perfect for Off-Road. OR has that sort of samurai vibe that I feel deserves something more samurai-esque than that ax he came with.

Sadly the ax isn't any shade of purple on Fracture, but it still works well. Much better than the stock weapon since they decided to give him stupid open hands for a weapon that has a handguard.

So am I wrong in thinking that if I just cut down the trapezoidal shapes and the other bit on the bottom of Brawl chest, that the waist section would fold flat? Like it seems like it should?

Because it looks like it would work.

>not sucking Hasbro's dick = wanting to stir up shit.

This entire argument started because your crowd couldn't accept some guys opinion that legends Groove sucked and then people takings sides based on that. Really having to white knight for a toy and then calling us for stirring up shit by supporting the OP is ridiculous.
>>
>>5351606
That's all that occurs with this brand war. Usually the takara "supporters" don't even give a shit. It is literally done to make others angry. It's very childish on both sides.
>>
For some reason my post got deleted off the other thread despite it being about Transformers toys? Well, whatever. This threads alive though.

Got my Combaticons today! I always forget how meaty Deluxes look on my shelf VS reviewer vids and shit. Still don't have an Onslaught though. Waiting for that price drop to his MSRP is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Brawl's funky waist doesn't look as bad in person, and thankfully, mine isn't floppy. His right arm side...Peg...Thing. Whatever joint it is, is a bit loose though. And his legs are a little looser than I'd like. Same with Swindle. And Vortex. And Blastoff. In fact, all of their legs are a bit loose. Not sure is this is QC gone wrong or if they're supposed to be like this. Either way, they're all getting some futureshine.

Also got the PE PC04 for Menasor, and it looks good. And some Tamashii Act 5's, which are awesome.
>>
>>5351641
I really dislike the paint apps Hasbro had for the Combaticons. The paint is way too faithful to the g1 toys. The worst offenders are probably Brawl and Vortex (and Swindle in the lack of paint in some areas). The only one that was alright 7/10 was Onslaught.

Rest of them had other problems. For example Swindle is now way too bulky and probably now the largest of the four. He probably would be better served instead using the First Aid/Offroad mold. And Blast-off's alt-mode isnt close to his original now.

Yes, I am, I'll admit it. But Bruticus is totally one of my favorites and I had hoped to have him in time for Christmas. Lack of Onslaught appearing with the rest of his wave unfortunately stripped me of that, but hey, at least I got the other Combaticons for MSRP, and totaling the shipping, it came out to less than if I'd waited and looked for them in person due to gas costs and me living in nowheresville.

In fact, it's almost always cheaper for me to pay a few bux shipping than to actually toy hunt in person unless what I'm looking for is a ton of stuff.

Beast wars toys are fine and don't need updates.

The only beast wars toys that NEED updates are the show characters indroduced in season 1. Their original toys are fine as toys, but they look nothing like the show models.
characters introduced from season 2 onward were mostly toy accurate. I'd like a new rampage though.

To be fair where you live can make a huge difference.
I live in a 15 mile radius of 3 walmarts, 2 targets(one is a 10 minute walk from my apartment) and a Toys R us
Make it a 30 mile radius and you can add 4 more walmarts another Target, another Toys R Us and a Kmart

So yeah all I have to do is hurry up and wait. However some of these other anons don't have any of the stores an hour a away or more. Or they just have the one Walmart/Target in the area and that's it. So Im not going to be telling strangers on the internet they are impatient because my options must be their options.
>>
>>5352343
I have 2 walmarts and 2 targets within 10 minutes of drive. There are also two Toys R Us in reach.

I don't really expect to find anything good in those places though. They haven't really stocked anything new at all, even though I know for sure at least one full combiner set has been sold recently.

And when it comes to Toys R Us... well, in most cases it's more expensive than buying online.

Some of these anons are asswipes, they only look at the immediate picture and judge others accordingly.

I'm in Australia, I got 3 stores 5mins drive from my house that sell tf's, all out of stock and are slow/showing inaccurate stock counts, further 15 and that store is downsizing their range, another 10 ontop of that store has older combiner wars waves, then 40mins to a toyrs R us where the staff don't even know they have a TF section (I found it, asked "got any more m8" and he kept walking past the damn section, bloody blind), there is a department store chain that has some but they're about to restock.

Then add about 2 hours into the city where within an hour's walk (public transport sucks so once in I huff it) 4 chains that my local mall had (the one thats 5 mins drive) have REMOVED their tf sections apart from the larger department store chain which...surprise surprise, awaiting a restock.

All I've found of the newer wave in all of these stores are 1 pipes, 2 chop shops, 2 buzzsaws, and a shockwave missing the peg so a combiner can hold it, reports of a chain in a really bad suburb has ONE OF EACH combaticon (can't even attempt to go, work hours prevent me from going) but this is it.

All other stores have are wave 2 legends, some minicons from RID and maybe 1 or 2 RID warrior class with some trickles of battlecore optimus prime with a total of 3 CW devastators.

TF hunting in Australia hurts, damn shitty distribution, when they do restock it'll be gone because CHRISTMAS

There has been alot of timely specials I admit but when those happen scalpers get in, seen a few selling "complete" combiner sets.

Anyway a regular deluxe can be up to $39aud, or 28.23us, but that's from a comic book store that imported them from elsewhere (only place where I found the cobra redeco of powerglide too, $25aud, fucking hell).

But the usual price is 29aud, 20.99 which toys R us and myer chains sell for.

Kmart here is our best when a sale isn't on with 25aud or 18.10usd, leader classes no one gives a shit since most big chains only carry megatrons of both flavors (shelf warming) with the odd seeker repaint in specialty shops that gauge ($79aud-89aud for megatrons but anything else goes up to $120).

Legends are $19aud everywhere apart from sales.

>>5352372

Anywhere not States has it bad
It's why you get so much Hasbro/Takara fights
Because to a US citizen it's usually 50% less to buy a Hasbro toy than get a Takara toy of the same mold. But just about everywhere else it's more like it 10%~20% cheaper at best. So to state side it's a huge difference while say the UK your paying extra for shipping and nothing else.

It's at best functional, at worst severely restricted. No waist, no thighs, no wrists, no biceps, no ankles. The shoulders and hips are pretty heavily restricted, as well. And that wasn't normal; bar maybe Rodimus, I can't think of any Classics figure that was as limited in articulation. Once you get into Universe 2.0, which featured double-joints on a semi-routine basis, it's not even funny.

This. It seems like people forgot the fucking awesome general quality we saw during the RoTF years. Modern CW toys seem bad because they're cheap and hollow, without ACTUALLY being cheap, unfortunately.
>>
>>5353621
>>5353625
Yeah. We expect the same level of engineering of those with only 2 modes for these deluxes that need to have four modes with one of the modes being an articulated arm, another a vehicle, another a part of a leg, and another being an articulated robot! We need perfection. We need to have Springer level quality on all of them and not raise the prices at all. Its a very realistic goal.
>>
>>5353071
>this is a better toy than Classics Starscream

not really. At least classics starscream doesn't have a shitty yellow block of plastic that's supposed to be a fake cockpit and his wing/nosecone kibble is actually in the right position
>>
>>5353634

They don't feel cheap to me. Maybe I've got different standards though.
>>
>>5353641

Yeah, it is kind of odd Leader CW Starscream doesn't have the standard fold down to reveal the head jet front, but I guess it's a result of him being a remold of Jetfire.

Personally I don't mind it, or care if it's fake, but it does seem an odd design choice. Honestly, if they just upscaled Legends Seekers, and gave them more articulation/detailing (thigh swivels, replace the solid plane nose area with an open clear canopy, upper arm swivels, a few missiles molded under the wings, etc) they'd probably be perfect Deluxe's.

>>
>>5353287
To be honest. The classics seekers are still good aesthetically. If you don't mess around with your toys you don't really give a shit about articulation.

>>5353634
The CW toys aren't blow away your face amazing but I think the limb bots are charming in their simplicity, and work for what they need to do. I think if they did this back in 2009 It'd be mostly the same thing but bigger in size. I want you to imagine designing several figures that are meant to be essentially quad changers that are compatible with one another, and are similar enough in limb mode to not make the resulting combiner not look like a total clusterfuck.
>>
>>5353903
>I want you to imagine designing several figures that are meant to be essentially quad changers that are compatible with one another, and are similar enough in limb mode to not make the resulting combiner not look like a total clusterfuck.

Not to mention stable. They're good at their jobs as limbs or feet.

But to play devil's advocate, most foot modes are literally just "vehicle mode except flip the front end back".
