Buy them 3 of these but only give them one and their parents the other two. Make sure the parents know they can use masking tape to fix breaks for a while before having to pull out a new one.

Combine these, give him Call of Duty Megabloks. They're great.
>>
Just give him a hundred bucks.

Then give him a choice to
>Spend it down at Toys R Us
>Donate it to cancer research.

He only has a wii I think.

Not buying him a playstation or xbox, don't think he'd cope well.

Honestly, if someone wanted to get me a gift but didn't know we well enough to pick out something proper, I'd just hope for cash or a gift card cash equivalent, that way you'd basically allow me to get for myself what I want the most.

Are 12 year old kids nowadays still playing with action figures & stuff? I did until I was around 13-14 but most people I knew had given it up when they were 11, when 6th grade was starting. Kids nowadays are even more pretentious about maturing, & are very technology oriented. At least that's how it seems.

He is 12 years old. He has to start understanding that if you spend money on cancer research, you won't have the money for buying toys.

At 12 I liked things such as RC helicopters (even though they had a 5 min battery life).

This thread made me sad though and I don't know why
maybe it was because you said "fun toys" and it struck something feelsy
