It may not be the best place for that but I just don't know where to ask... I love lego, I'm a collector since many many years, but for some complicated reason I want to sell my entire collection... I just don't know what price to ask. I don't expect to make a lot of money, I've probably spent more than I will get. What is the best way to evaluate it?

>gather bricks in large bin(s)
>weigh on scale
>find average prices for similar amounts on eBay
I sold about 20 pounds for around $200 a few years ago after I picked through and gathered all of the "valuable" bits and minifigs and sold those separately.
make a bricklink account, sell the parts that way

I can't recommend this. I started listing my bins of parts for sale through Bricklink recently and it takes forever.
I suggest rebuilding what sets you can and sell those first. If you list lots on eBay you'll have to break them up into USPS large flat rate boxes, otherwise shipping costs will be complete bullshit.
Sell complete sets, extra minifigures and bulk pieces separately. The bricklink price guide and ebay completed listings are a good way to find the value.
When I sold my collection of 200 sets, the majority actually went on the classifieds. I listed them for the selling price on ebay minus about 10% and had lots of response. You'll find lots of people will take multiple sets if they're collectors as well.
Just don't be in a rush to sell it. Take your time and find the right buyers. It seems like a lot at first, but it'll all go.
I'll buy it all for a dollar.

contact your local LUG (Lego User Group), they may be able to accelerate your sale. It looks, in a low-res kinda way, like a solid collection

that's what I ended up doing. Here's more pictures if you're curious http://imgur.com/a/SgV4b
I also decided to set the price around $3500 but I feel I will have to part it in set and smaller lots like a lot of people said here.
Do you need the money? If not, keep that stuff. In a few years you will regain your interest.
