I think the word you are looking for is pre-owned. Then there's other category like what condition is that pre-owned item. You can not generalize a unopened item as used, that would make everything "used" once they leave the factory. Just because its not a store selling it doesn't mean it's automatically "used". Also say I have a store and I'm selling it, what then? There are many privately owned online stores that sells items, are they all consider "used" even if they are still new?
