Probably never unless you live in a really damp, humid climate. Besides which ThreeA's is coming with rubber tires too. If you're worried you could always smear them with Honda Shin-Etsu grease, it's what I've been using to preserve the unpainted rubber parts on my Hot Toys figures.

Man, Mezco's bike looks like it has a better finish than 3A's bike, but I'm still gonna get the 3A bike instead cause I prefer the classic design, plus I don't need the dumb sound gizmos.

I've been more of a fan of the modern version ever since that Christmas Dredd story Jim Murray illustrated. I prefer it looking like an Akira bike on steroids to looking like it's made of Lego.

I'm feeling you on that one, the 3A has a lot of charm. Honestly though, I don't really think you can go wrong with either. I have a feeling that these are going to be the types of things where people will be bemoaning the fact that they never got one for years to come. Dredd is just such a toy rarity that you simply cannot overthink a purchase and should just go with it.
Mezco's blowing my mind with the PX 'Cursed Earth' Dredd. Every time I look at it I see some new detail that's different vs the retail release. The PX version comes with a completely different and more classic-looking Lawgiver with the dial-style shot selector.

According to this and the video reviews - yes. They open on each end and hinge in the middle.
Does anyone know if the PX version is still being released at the end of this month or did it slip to next year? I'm trying to decide if I should pick up the retail version, shell out for the NYCC black and white version instead or just wait a few weeks for the PX.
