This board is lacking toy trains. Let's fix this.
>>5251797
I used to have a lot of those, from Thomas the Tank Engine, and back when they were made of wood.
I remember going to Knotts Berry Farm and there being a store inside the Park where you could also play with a set they had.
>>5251799
I really wish they'd actually tried to make Toqger mechs look good.

Remember when all you needed to make a toy train for children was to make it colorful?
>>5251797
Whose ready for Skarloey in HOn30?
>>5253820
That's not the actual model, is it?
>>5254052
Not him, but nope. The actual models were Gauge 1, but the narrow gauges were a custom scale( All chassis were Märklin).
Pic related to give a sense of scale.
>>5254126
I was asking if that was the actual model that Bachmann was releasing.
>>5254145
Well, shit.
>>5251797
>Brio
Oh god the nostalgia. I played with Brio so much as a kid. Love love loved it.
>>5254052
>>5254145
Yep. The fact it's a ready-to-run cheap OO9 locomotive means a lot. Remove the face, add new paint, and it can be a nice Welsh engine.
>>5254536
You could easily make Skarloey's brother(that is if Bachmann UK doesn't make him, first).
>>5251797
It's lacking them because they suck and are lame.
>>5254536
That van looks like it could make a nice Cora.
>>5254380
Brio used to some pretty god-tier wooden trains.
>>5252403
Thomas is still made of wood, but the wheels and connectors and shit are made of plastic.

I loved Brio, but my parents would rarely get me any. I really liked their ultra-simple style.
Any pictures of model trains used with figmas/figurines?
>>5266448
Not model trains, but someone posted this. I don't know what the D51 is from, but I want one.

I remember once finding HOn30 models of the other Tayllyn railway engines, but despite my best efforts I can't seem to find them again. I think they might have been brass kits, but I can't remember.
Can anyone help me out here? Or am I remembering something that doesn't actually exist?
>>5268210
PECO makes a kit of Talyllyn, dunno about the other engines.
Gotta remember there's a lot of scratchbuilding going on in those scales too.
>>5267268
Looks like a wind up D51
>>5268410
I imagesearched your picture, and after a bit of exploring, I found that the website for the Talylln Railway actually gives a list of manufacturers that make scale models of their engines and rolling stock.
So, thanks, for giving me something to go off of.
>>5270306
Are they in HOn30 though?
>>5270768
Here's the page- http://www.talyllyn.co.uk/details/kits
They list for 7mm/1ft, 5.5mm/1ft, and 4mm/1ft scales. I'm not sure what those translate into for US modellers, unfortunately. 4mm is OO9 if you're into UK modelling, though.
These guys- http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/index.html have most of the products listed on the Talyllyn page. I'm not 100% about HOn30, but if you do OO9 they've got all six of Talyllyn's steamers.
Talyllyn and Tom Rolt can be found here: http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/acatalog/Loco_Body_Kits__White_Metal_.html
Dolgoch and Douglas here: http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/acatalog/White_Metal_Loco_Body_Kits.html
And Sir Haydn and Edward Thomas here: http://www.parksidedundas.co.uk/acatalog/UNITED_KINGDOM_RAILWAYS.html
They are all white metal chassis kits, so you'll need to supply the wheels and paint them yourself.
And as an aside for anyone who wants to use this information to model the Skarloey railway or for anyone wishing to model the Talyllyn railway as it was in 1958-1969, you'll need to scratchbuild your own Giesel ejector because none of the Edward Thomas kits currently available are modeled with it.

>No transformer or king kong on it
Come on
Anyone ever heard of these?
>>5278631
it's very popular in Japan

Kitbashing ahoy.
>>5278715
I know how popular Plarail is, but I was referring to Plarail Advance. They're trains that run on the rails of regular TOMY track.
>>5278715
Those Tomica diecasts look adorable.

And they still are (mostly)
>new ones from 2013-2015
>>5251797
Does Brio still make wooden trains, by any chance?
>>5266448
Like this?
>>5300130
They still do, but they don't really make much of the old stuff.
>>5273719

I really want Toqger to come to the west.
