and apparently, as far as the people in the stores and I know.
Bowser is for the 3ds and for the Wii, and DK is for the Wii U version..... which mean at the moment it isnt a way to get Bowser... which is really sad.

I went a little nuts on Skylanders Superchargers yesterday. Bought the Dark Edition Starter Set for Xbox One, Frightful Fiesta, his car and one of Jet Vac,s plane at Best Buy. Then I went to Target to get the Nitro Stealth Stinger to go with the Dark Stealth Elf. Then to Toys r Us to get Legendary Jet Vac and the Legendary Astroblast and vehicle set. I just wanted to grab all of the variants now while before they went up in price.

Well, nothing is certain. If First Avenger Cap is well recieved, we don't know what other alternate characters could get. We already Have Mickey and Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey who are quite different from each other, plus I remember Classic Maleficent being mentioned somewhere by a higher up, so it's not entirely out of the question.

I wasn't concerned about the Jet Vac figure cause there was about 30 racks of them on the wall. The Astroblast set comes with a bonuse race thing and they only had about eight of them at my TrU. That's the one that had me concerned. I didn't want to end up missing out on them like I did the Light and Dark Trap Team sets.

Microsoft has a strict policy when it comes to third party peripherals. All devices must have some sort of special license in order for them to work on a 360 or Xbone and they're not cross compatible. That's why the 360 portal only works for the 360 and the Xbone only works for Xbone.
The other wins will work on any device. So a Wii U portal will work on a PS3 and vice versa.

I recently snatched up a copy of the Wii version for 40 Yurp moneys, which was a pretty good deal, all things considered. You gotta look at it this way: If the figures were sold as singles, you wouldn't be getting off that much cheaper anyway. Over here at least, Supercharger figures are 12.99. Vehicles are 15.99. That makes all the figures in the set worth 41.97. I basically saved 1.97 and got the game for free.
I was waiting for a price drop like this because I knew the Racing version would be clogging shelves like mad, but I didn't expect it to happen this fast. If this continues, they'll be throwing them out for 20 bucks soon enough.

that's pretty kick ass and i would have done something like that if I remembered to save my box's cards.
I ended up going to walmart and got these styrofoam rectangles, glued them in a stair like pattern and then got some wood pieces to hold up the back stairs flat. Painted them up, and put little round stickers on them with the character's series logo. It was pretty neat although with all the DLC characters I'm gonna have to figure out how i want to rearrange everything.

What does the portal plug into?
Would I need some kind of table or desk space for it and the toys?
How often are you swapping things out, is it enough that I'd want to play at a desk or have a coffee table if I'm on a couch?

The base plugs into a usb port. It has a sizable wire, so Inwouldn't worry too much about a table.
How much you swap is all dependent on you. In order to change characters or power discs, you need to swap them out, so if you like having a variety of characters to choose or die a lot, you'll be swapping a fair amount. Still, it's not like LEGO dimensions where swapping on the base is actually a gameplay feature.
Homestly, I'd say PC is the best way to go since you can switch characters and apply discs from a menu, on top of the obvious performance enhancements. Still, if you have any series 1/2 power discs, you can't use them on pc.

There seems to be a quality jump for 3.0. The 2.0 ones I have look fine but if you look up close there's mold lines and some slight coloring issues like some flesh color going onto the edge of Cap's mask which is fair for a $12 toy imo.
But by comparison the 3.0 toys look fantastic, Hulkbuster looks super clean, if it was an inch taller I could see it going for $30-40 easy

I gave it a shot. I love the regular LEGO games and most of the franchises in Dimensions.
You know all those bad things people assume about toys-to-life games? They're actually true with Dimensions. Sure, you can beat the game just fine with the main pack, but virtually every other collectible is locked behind something that requires extra characters. Sometimes things will be locked behind MULTIPLE different abilities so you require more than one extra pack just to get it.
The overall quality is great, the cross-dimensions humour is funny, the presentation is top notch. But the entire game feels like such a cash grab. I played a few levels and haven't touched it since, it just depresses me.
It doesn't help that the figure are just tiny LEGO creations. They don't feel as cool as having a nice Disney Infinity figure where you get value just from the figure itself.

You can still do every main mission and explore 3 of the "Adventure worlds" with the base pack, but there's a collectible or something every 10 feet that requires an extra ability so it gets very annoying.
Like I said, the overall quality is great, it's just the additional figure packs scheme they went with that sucks, especially compared to Disney Infinity where you don't feel punished just for not having all the packs.

I've only gotten into DI with 3.0 and had intended to only buy characters I wanted to play, but the designs and quality of the figures is just so damn good I know I'm going to end up with a bunch more. There are a lot of great amiibos but there are also a lot of mediocre looking ones. And skylanders look pretty crummy as figures from what I've seen.

Same. I passed on Disney Infinity 1.0 because it was all Pixar. Passed on 2.0 because I don't really care about Marvel either. But with the introduction of Star Wars + more originals I was finally onboard.
Originally had a list of like 10 figures I wanted.
I now have over 70. Every single Disney Original and Star Wars figure.
I did this once before with Skylanders and had every Skylander and Giant but ended up selling them all away. But with these they're high quality enough and I enjoy Disney so much that I don't regret it at all. Plus the game is actually good.

There's just... not much to it.
It's 100% fan service, but fan service can only carry a game so far. There's no character leveling or customization, no mode for user created content (ironic that the Disney game encourages more creativity than fucking LEGO), not even a versus system.
It's a game that lives and dies by clever writing and catering to fans... but a joke is only funny the first time you hear it. And there's NO joke that's worth one hundred dollary-doos.

Skylanders and Disney Infinity by design have replaybility built in. You can level up your characters, make them fight each other, trade'em and in the case of Disney Infinity, create your own scenarios.
Dimensions is one and done. If you enjoyed previous Lego games, you know a fraction of what you're getting. You may enjoy it, or you may actually end up getting pissed off by everything that use to be part of a package now being locked off.

This one they actually did get a decent amount of the voice talent from the franchises to do new lines. They got Homer, but not Bart. It's really noticeable in the Simpsons levels when it's only Homer talking and every other Simpsons characters just does a visual gag.

Play sets can only be played with specific characters. The toy box and its expansions can be played with any character. Except you can't use Cars characters in toybox takeover, as they have no combat abilities.
