I'd personally change the 2 longs on the sword handle and in the legs to black. I like the red ones in the staff. The rest is great. Other than the fire sword (which can be swapped for black), I think all of that could be made using existing parts. I love the end of that staff.

Got a self-moc too. Not to sure myself what self-moc generally means, but I know what it means for me. When I started to get into Bionicle, I knew that I wanted to have at least one moc to tell a story about. So I took one of my favourite elements, altered the colour scheme a bit (sonics, gunmetal instead of dark grey, also dark blue accents), took my favourite Kanohi and developed a character that has influences of my own rl character.

I was really eager to get the Skeletons for all the great pieces to use for my team of villains but I after getting Warrior I realized I don't have much use for them aside from the weapons and the chest armor. You should try working on better feet, I think. The MOC overall is good, but the feet (and calves actually) are a bit too long for the rest of the body. Also this foot mold doesn't look good with the rest of the MOC. As said before, though, the shoulder assembly make the MOC look good.

The 2005 playsets I thought were pretty decent as far as structures go, but the figures for that year were dogshit. 2006 was a step up for figures but the sets were shit. 2007 had TTC as literally the only good one, though I personally dislike vehicle system sets so overall that year was a miss in terms of playsets. I feel like replacing them with vehicles in 2008 was the right idea since those were compatible with the figures, though in a perfect world I would have preffered giant rahi.

The titans were okay. Everything else was pretty shit, clone sets with awkwardly wide and flat torsos, it was also the year they dropped gear functions. Plus the Inika masks weren't compatible with any other head piece and the Inika head piece was literally the worst bionicle piece.
2004 had some of the best designed sets, even if the new colors made them really bland. 2001 is a subjective favorite of mine just because of the variety of sets and the fact that it had big monster sets, which I have a softspot for.

I welcomed LotR at first as a nice stand-in for castle, providing a similar type of thing, but then the hobbit movie ruined that by being a setpiece-fest rather than having any well-designed locations, lego had to make the movie-tie in sets which are pretty much all mediocre, and we will probably never see any other LotR licensed sets anymore.
Being a Bonkle fan I know this is a bit of a hypocritical thing to say, but I feel like if the founder of lego saw what it was today, he would feel pretty sick.

You see, the rich / irresponsible with money people (who win all the BZPower contests) can buy hundreds of every set, and thus they can make MOC's all the colors of the rainbow. However, sensible people who purchased one of every set are really limited to making something black, silver, or gray if they want it to be big (which it has to be to be considered good by the BZP community). By creating this idea that MOC's of those three colors are instantly and objectively bad, you have guaranteed the same people will win every contest for the forseeable future.

If he had been around at Bionicle's inception things would probably have stayed pretty similar to how they were 2001-2003, perhaps a bit more lighthearted, but it definitely would never have gone the 2006 route, blasters would never have been allowed to be a thing. We also would have gotten almost no 'human enemies' and probably more things along the lines of the Rahi / Bohrok, where you make them friendly rather than killing them.
Honestly wouldn't have been too bad.
