A childhood obesity epidemic is what happened. Kids keep screaming to their parents that they want a happy meal just for the toy and get addicted to the shit food and end up fat because of it. It's basically psychological shit they've been doing for years to hook kids in and make them life long customers.
It was only a matter of time kids meal toys went the way of the dinosaur just like Joe Camel. Also in all honesty if I had kids I'd rather just buy them some cheap toy from Walmart than subject them to garbage food.
