FEBRUARY CHALLENGES

>Turn a random set you have lying around into a spaceship

>Build a micro-city and then build kaiju & robots to destroy it. Take pics and post in thread.

>Wedding proposal gone wrong

>Marvel/DC (or anything that isn't Star Wars) Microfighters

>Modernize or otherwise MOC a vehicle set
>>
So I picked up Metalbeard's Duel today, it's pretty neat. The Micro-manager is really cool, and reminds me of ED from Robocop. I wish Metalbeard had a bit more articulation, though.

>I'm the person who's been organizing the monthly challenges for the past few months (but not February). I prefer having four weekly challenges at the beginning of the month for two reasons: a full month is a really long time for something that's supposed to be a challenge, and having four choices means that even if someone doesn't like or can't do one challenge, there are still other options for them during that window.
>I'm also going to point out that collecting ten or twelve suggestions and then using Strawpoll to have the thread vote on the top four means that those are the ones that interested the most people. IIRC the February challenges were just the first four that people posted after someone asked.
>Obviously I'm not going to throw a fit if people want to do a single monthly challenge, but I've completed the majority of the weeklies and had a lot of fun doing so.

I agree with having more than one challenge. Usually I don't feel like doing all of them and half the time I can't even make a good entry because I lack the pieces to do so.

Futuron, Blacktron, M-Tron, Fright Knights, etc.

I meant make a new set for a theme like Ice Planet or the Fright Knights (or any other old Lego theme). Not just "a car" or "a spaceship" that doesn't fit a specific theme.

Ah, ok. For some reason, I guess I was looking into it wrong and reading it as "build a set for a licensed theme."

I'll buy Cold too, but mostly I'm disappointed that that's all they've done for the Flash in lego, he has plenty of great characters I'd love to have.

Though, I'd love to know the thought process behind this set. What lead to a batmech? Why are Wonder Woman and her stupid jet being shoved off here? Attacking a banana truck was really all they could think of for Gorilla Grodd?
>>
>>4752582
The 'strike' and '/strike' around it implies that they were trying to strikethru the text, maybe they removed their minimum buy. Contact the seller and find out.

>>4752590
Oh, yeah, I forgot about Captain Cold. To be honest I'm almost tempted to pick the set up and parts box most of it, if only because the mech is kinda nice and the invisible jet is neat. Clear parts are always nice to have. Otherwise, I've really enjoyed the Flash TV show, so Flash/Grodd/Cold is pretty nice...

Again. Went to my local tru. No racers, but they had the new Ninjago and avengers sets.

Came out with these.

Might go back for the hulkbuster set.
>>
>>4752590
Keep in mind that Flash, Captain Cold and Gorilla Grodd is around 23 bucks on Bricklink. Michael Cera and his banana truck is probably atleast 6-7 bucks more. That's 30 bucks, not including shipping.

The set retails for 50 bucks, you could probably find it for cheaper. And then you'd get more figs and extra parts.

And the reason for a batmech is because Batman is popular as shit and LEGO seems to believe that any set without Batman won't sell. Personally I wish they'd skiped the WW and the invisible jet (it looks like shit) and made the set a 40 dollar set instead

I wish the dollar store stocked Decool stuff, I super want huge Venom and Juggenaut or whoever was doing the GOOD DBZ minifigures.

I'm actually in that boat, but that's been the only Micro Fighter I've had trouble finding. They had a ton of Snowspeeders at both the LEGO store and Fred Meyer, but I've only seen the one AT-AT. There's something about the AT-AT, I don't know if they're producing fewer of them, or it's just that much more popular than the rest.

Sometimes its an aisle.

Sometimes its in the garden center (even the outside area)

Sometimes they put out risers down the walkways

Walmart clearance is also on a store basis so even of one has not on clearance another may not.

They also like to set up racks near Sporting Goods or Electronics. Really anyone hunting for clearance deals should make a full lap of the store as well as ask associates where the clearance sections are. And always price check, since it might be even cheaper than the sticker reads.

>>
>>4752926

>Mario and Wario being that tall

>>
>>4754264
I'm not an employee, but I know you can buy a big box of the same PAB part. I went with a friend once, and he bought a box of Medium Azure 2x4s. I don't remember how much it cost.
>>
>>4754264
Yes, you can. I believe the price is $125, but I don't remember how big the box is.
>>
>>4754264
I cannot confirm, though, I'm pretty sure we're getting them in March.

You can puchase boxes of them, yes. You'll get about 5-700 2X4 bricks inside a box. They'll go for about $100 each, in some cases the price changes.
>>
>>4754264
>>4754286

But I'm an employee, you CAN buy a PAB unit box, given that it wasnt previously open, when we scan those out for inventory purposes, they come up as 0.00 so an employee that knows what theyre doing will adjust it for 100.00.
So basically go to a store ask for the ASM or manager ask to buy a box of bricks, they cost 100 each, oh and no word on Winter soldier figure, last I heard was September.
