The few times I've seen shit get unpleasant it wasn't about anyone's politics, usually it was just the person themselves and some failure to respect boundaries.
Generally putting a team of people together and giving them a common goal and a need to cooperate is enough. This is one of the best things about RPG'ing.

Nope, not much attention gets paid to the fact that most gun violence and shootings in the country are a result of gang violence, and that "mass shootings" are a statistical outlier. It's a self-perpetuating cycle, in my opinion. The manner in which our media reports on such shootings likely does more to instigate and inspire similar shootings than they would readily admit to.
But that's getting a bit off topic for this thread, so I'll leave it there.

The other one's a lip-reading deaf girl who wound up a semi-reluctant criminal after she got a little too creative about getting her stuff back from a bunch of guys who conned her.
We're all getting along pretty well - main reason why politics aren't a taboo theme. If you're wondering about why I didn't list a dedicated GM it's 'cause we rotate the position among each other.

4 would occasionally engage with him, and then 6 would bring her own opinions in but 6 and 2 never really got anywhere on that front.
3 and 5 never wanted to talk politics, which is fine.
