I do and sometimes I regret I do. Many games get half assed Linux support or are ported using technologies similar to Wine.
I genuinely recommend everyone to try to pirate the game first and check if it works on your system. There are many titles with serious fuck ups, game breaking bugs or working only on SteamOS or Ubuntu. It's worst when bug appears somewhere later in the game, e.g. is tied to one of late levels.
Also, be careful with Humble Bundles. Lately they were selling games that are not DRM-free and available only through Steam.
