When the fuck does basketball start again?
>Curry went to an award show to watch highlights of the Warriors getting BTFO for 3 hours
>implying the Celtics have assets to get both
>trading for two guys who will be one year rentals
>gutting the roster for either/both of them just to get destroyed by a more complete Cavs team
Wait for next offseason desu.
Good read about the future of the West, and the Nugs, here. If you're sleeping on them, prepare to wake up this season.
>>implying the Celtics have assets to get both
Except they literally do? They have their 2017 1st rd pick (better of Nets/Celtics), 2018 unprotected Nets 1st, Avery Brown, Jayden Brown and Isiah Thomas all as reasonable tradeable assets if they know they're getting both Westbrook and Griffin.
Someone shop the 5 teams he beat on the 5 dogs
(Also: Celtics fans keep wildly overvaluing the Nets picks... and almost everyone else seems to be overestimating the amount the Celtics would have to trade to get Westbrook/Griffin)
OH SHIT SWEET! PRIGIONI IS A ROCKETS LEGEND!
You mean Sam Presti is working the phones and Danny Ainge is waiting for the right time to fleece him.
The asking price at this point is too high so Danny Ainge will be waiting until the trade deadline as Sam Presti gets more desperate. He'll also remember the Green-Perkins trade where the Celtics won since Perkins was useless on their roster while Green was a serviceable wing until he got traded to the Bears.
>books nigga is absolutely BTFOing summer league
This nigga can't be stopped when healthy
Already looking like the best player in the draft
He's a westbrook who is literally less efficient in every way possible (especially height and strength).
He's not going to be in a package deal for WB unless the thunder have lost their fucking minds.
>Have you been able to see much of Boston yet? Are you excited to explore? You've taken some graduate classes—are you going to tap into some of the schools in the area to explore advancing your education further?
>I already talked with coach Tommy Amaker at Harvard. He said I'm welcome to come up and visit anytime.
Won't he trigger 90% his brethren with his educated melanin enriched initiative?
No I refuse to admit that's happening, this fucking midgit is not coming to my team no fucking way.
Thomas had one good season on the celtics because he took a lot of shots.
He does the same shit as westbrook only worse in every statistic. If we're going to trade WB we need something better than IT and a pick.
>implying he won't tutor his teammates once a week making them the most intelligent team in NBA history
>Jaylen starts using words Draymond Green doesn't understand during trash talking
>Draymond tries to kick Jaylen in the nuts but he is anticipating it and evades, Draymond Green ends up pulling a Charlie Brown and hits his head on the court
Wait a second, are you arguing that neither team would want Thomas? You do realise it wouldn't be a 1-for-1 trade, right? At least a pick, and probably another player, would be included.
And the entire premise behind Westbrook/Griffin leaving would basically require any team that does it to tank and rebuild?
I'm saying I don't fucking know why they would even want him when the Celtics have so many better things to take.
Westbrook is a superstar, they should take a pick, avery and brown. Not IT.
there is no way a trade happens unless Westbrook demands one or says he is leaving after the season
Ainge is not going to settle for anything less than fleecing, other teams will make better offers
Presti would rather gamble on keeping a top 5 player than getting scraps
I think a trade might happen, is presti still willing to risk getting nothing after Durant walked?
I just think they can definitely get more. A season of westbrook on the celtics is still enticing for the office since he could literally make them a contender overnight with the rest of their roster.
>Blake Griffin gets his full potential unlocked by Brad Stevens
>Westgod can conquer the east fueled by nothing but rage and resentment
>mfw this will literally happen in my lifetime
What is it about the Leltics that attract these foreign bandwagoners?
>Pic of flip related
My cousin is a laker fan
My uncle is a laker fan
My dad is a warriors fan
They all hate the celtics.
My mom is a celtics fan tho, but she's been liking them since she lived in the philippines. She had a bunch of larry bird shit in her room there
Yeah but everyone is overestimating how much OKC is gutted.
WB didn't sign an extension because even if he tears his ACL, he's getting the max. so he not signing an extension doesn't mean shit. If OKC can hold off and convince him to stay there is no reason to start a rebuilding process and tank because they're already a contender imo.
And despite all I've said about IT I really think he deserves to stay on the Celtics because believe it or not I may actually be wrong with everything I've said and maybe the environment has caused him to have an upward trajectory with his career and a great breakout season.
I think it's bad for everyone. Why rebuild in OKC when it's not 100% confirmed you have to?
/nba/ will ignore that because their to busy deep throating Lebron's mirco dik
makes /nba/ so fucking mad
>mfw its a leltics thread
Then OKC can wait until mid-season to trade Westbrook. But I think they are going to be mediocre with no viable way of getting better and that combination makes it unlikely WB will re-sign.
>RBL wins the summer of broships summer league

>be Lelkers "fan"
>claim their newest rookie is a franchise player

>mfw all the fakeships ran into hiding
As a San Antonio Spurs enthusiast I am really hopeful for the possibility of our team winning back-to-back SL titles. Sure, it's only Summer League, but back-to-back titles hasn't happened yet, and should it happen to anyone I hope like for it to be my Spurs.
It's the same 2-3 posters spamming over and over again, you can tell because they post the same exact way.
Anyone with a brain knows even with their retarded "theories" about getting Westbrook and Griffin they're still not even close to the Cavs or Warriors level
The fucking Clippers were a better team than that and they still got BTFO every year
Reminder that this beautiful man is going to rape the league next year
just say it! you wanna suck him up
Im just a LeBron fan
I wouldnt mind him jumping to the Warriors for vet min for keks
>/nba/ is all about advanced stats
>they ignore 3-4 and act like its not under 500
can we talk about rookies that are not talked about.
how are they doing? like that one guy the cavs drafted.
>Lebron never beat the Celtics until they got too old
>The new Celtics will never beat Lebron until he gets too old
>embrace geographical sports rivalries that you will never actually understand or be apart of
>insert self into bants j-just like a real bean town uh southie uh chowda head uh what do we call ourselves again guys?
>pretend to not be from a culture whose only contribution to human kind is the manila envelope
well ok then
>Hayward, Joe Jesus
I'm really liking the Jazz right now. I think they could easily get 4th or 5th in the West, and all they're missing is backup for Rudy.
If they signed Westbrook next season, then I'd pick them to win the ship. It's great team even without any all stars, and adding them would really tip them from "sure playoff thing" to "contention".
>mfw as soon as Adams plays for the NZ national team they're instantly ranked higher than Australia by FIBA.
>Adams is only 22
>I can't even get close to that much hair at 23
>you will never be a 7 foot tall cave man
>Prime Jeff Green before injuries
>probably missing more
Too bad the salary cap exists, because they drafted so much talent it's impossible to give out that many max contracts to keep it.
>tfw that Westbrook/Hareden/Green/KD/Ibaka team never worked out
And trading Perkins for Green ended up being bad because by that time Perkins had torn his ACL and was a shadow of his former self when in Boston. If it weren't for Perk I truly believe they would have won in 2011 against the Mavs and the newly formed Heat who hadn't figured it out yet.
That lineup alone would make a great small ball team.
That trade was pretty fucked. Perk and Nate were non factors in the playoffs and Nate only plalyed for 6 minutes with no points in the WCF
Green was averaging 20 points in the playoffs.
Literally any Center would've been better than Perk at that time, even a vet minimum player.
>mfw the Green Perkins trade ended up shifting the balance of the NBA and changing the destiny of today for LeBron, OKC, and Boston
>tfw Dirk really fucking lucked out on that championship run
Really makes you think how much impact trades have on the NBA and all the possibilities.
Imagine all the alternate universes where trade deals broke down or certain players didn't get injuries.
So many parallel universes and alternate realities running at the same time but on different courses.
Assuming Perkins was never injured and Green stayed in OKC would OKC really have been able to beat that Mavs team, that Celtics team, or that first year Miami Heatles team?
I'm pretty sure if LeBron choked that hard against the Mavs they'd do the same against Boston. Would OKC have really beat Boston? They were old as fuck then, past their prime and 3 years away from their last championship. I could see another Spurs vs. OKC type of result of them being too young and athletic for the majority old team.
Heat would get smoked by Boston.
OKC vs. Garnett and the boys would have been a GOAT Finals.
reminds me of rick ross
>raps about being hard as fuck
>raps about having a choppa in his car
>raps about shooting niggas
>gets shot at
>calls the police
rappers are so bitchmade
Yeah, good thing we got Drake to lead the pack and keep it real.
Perkins was shelved for half a season when he got traded and they were confident that Jermaine O'Neal and Shaq would be enough for the playoffs before both of them blew up their knees and were literally slumping corpses during the postseason.
The final straw was Marquis Daniels getting axed a few weeks before the trade deadline leaving Paul Pierce with no backup hence the deal.
He was useless as Pierce's backup and when the time came when they got shipped to Brooklyn he became even more useless as the go-to scorer.
Damn this was a great series.
Dirk was destroying KD and OKC didn't have as good as a bench as the Mavs. Westbrook had as many offensive rebounds as a center and Harden was actually efficient.
>Harden not an inefficient chucker and only 14ppg
>Westbrook getting all those free throws going to the line
>Harden more efficient than KD
>Ibaka more efficient than KD
>tfw Prime Ibaka will never come back
Just after we got some flashes in the playoffs too. Too bad small ball happened.
>Perkins was only 26 years old back then
He looked 35.
Thought it would be a fun idea to go with an all-white team on 2k. Fired up MyLeague fantasy draft, and my second unit is Neto, Heinrich, Bogdanovic, Leonard and Jokic. I've never played with such an unathletic team before. Getting bullied by the other teams that have black players, don't really know how I feel about this.
This guy plays for Kentucky, is going to be the main big man for them next year, is from New Zealand, and John Calipari compared him to Steven Adams in his game, but he's also able to play as a PF.
If he has a good season next year he's likely to enter the draft.
I think he's got a lot of potential. tbhwy.
Redpill me on Jimmer Fredette.
They were telling before that he's the next NBA superstar.
Does he lose all his energy by having sex with his hot wife?
>he has gotten to the line a lot and players aren't daring him to shoot.
sounds like he might get into James Hardens kinda game. I've seen D'angelo russell do it and it pisses me off, thats a bad habit to get into where you swing your arms for calls. amateur thing to do.
he is a bad chucker redick especially uses screens and takes smart shots jimmer most of the time is afraid to shoot or takes bad ones combine that with no minutes and your career is over
>JJ Redick, Kyle Korver and Gordon Hayward
I could say that those three players are taller than Jimmer probably more athletic.
Presti is pretty well known to be biased toawards Westbrook. Maybe they both planned this from the beginning to make it Westbrook team.
During the 2012 Olympics Kobe famously tried to pry apart Westbrook and Kevin Durant asking Westbrook why he doesn't make it his team and why he shares it with Durant? As he say more potential in Westbrook as a alpha male.
>Kobe also made a point of guarding Westbrook during practices and pumping him up, the theory being that he wanted to incite Russ to bump heads with KD over who the team’s best player is. (If you think that’s too conspiratorial to be real, you don’t know Kobe.) KD, in particular, got tired of hearing him
The Black Mamba strikes again.
>KD was too pussy to take some trash talk while Kobe Jr. was just fine.
Really shows you who the weak and the strong are.
>Kobe Bryant didn’t know the young guard’s name in the pickup game that day. He only knew that he would be heading into his freshman season at UCLA and that he was an absolute terror on the court.
>“Who the hell is this kid?” Bryant, the Los Angeles Lakers star, said he wondered.
>The kid was Russell Westbrook, who several years later obviously is much better known now as a star point guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
>Westbrook scored 36 points, added 12 rebounds and 7 assists in the Thunder’s 117-113 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, leading Bryant to reflect on his first encounter with Westbrook and the impression that he made.
>“He was everywhere,” Bryant said. “A relentless competitor. I had never even heard of him. So it was shocking to me sometimes to kind of look at scouts and see what the hell they’re looking at. This guy was this way when he’s 16 years old.”
>Bryant also said he’s not surprised to see how skilled Westbrook has become.
>“Nope, because he cared and competed and guys that compete and it means a lot to them, they’re going to get better no matter what,” Bryant said. “It’s not a surprise to me one bit.”
Will Lelbron be recognized officially as the first player/coach/gm at his hall of fame induction or will it be a factoid we have to pass down to our children through oral tradition
Prime Tim Duncan and The Admiral getting shat on by KG
>Howard this emotional about being in Atlanta
Damn, he's really had it hard since Orlando. I hope he does well here, I could see him retiring there.
>Edmondson told police he was hanging out with his girlfriend when Green bumped into him. Edmondson says he told Green, “Hey bro, you can at least say ‘Excuse me.'”
>Green allegedly responded by saying, “Do you know who I am?” … and added, “I pay for n***as like you scholarships.”
>Edmondson says two of Green’s associates then began to choke him out right in the bar. He later noticed that Green’s associates choked his girlfriend as well.
Daily reminder that Boston was undefeated in Utah summer league, and are only doing poorly in Vegas because their Vegas coach is shit-tier.
Also daily reminder Brown will be a ROY contender.
