I agree that Messi is probably not THE GOAT, but he should at least be in the same levels as this man.
However, all the media and a lot of faggots around here are heavily implying that he will never be a GOAT because he never won a World Cup or the Copa America.
All of Cruyff's titles were domestic ones, both as a player and as a manager; he was great at both things and nobody seems to care that he never won anything with the Netherlands. Why?

Cruyff is from the Netherlands, they've never won a World Cup so the Dutch GOATs aren't expected to win one either. Maradona supposedly carried his team to the World Cup, so all future Argentinian GOATs are expected to carry their country to a world cup as well (even though that's probably impossible with today's improved standard of football).
It's a similar reason why the media try to hype up the England team and players even though we're shit. Because we won the World Cup in the past, we're expected to win it every 4 years.

What makes Cruijff one of the GOATS is the fact that besides being a very good football player, he is also someone that changed the game. Modern day tactics derive from many of his ideas on how to play the game.
While Maradona is a GOAT solely because he was extremely good in the field, he didn't contribute much to the game in terms of tactics.
