Let's say Jürgen Klinsmann is let go as manager of the USMNT. Who would be the best man to replace him? Or at least, who can the USA convince to come over? Another foreigner or a domestic product?

They better not hire a single damn american to manage that team. Jurgen is better than all of them.
If USA Soccer is really committed to finding a better coach then Jurgen then everyone already knows where to look, Europe.
The USA should just keep him and listen to everything hes saying about player development. Because hes right about where USA players should be going and signing on to

lol
How about we don't fire him and keep improving?

Big talk coming from a French Division 2 coach. How about he gets his side promoted first and sign & develop some American players. Thats the only service he can provide
hiddink
Löw obviously.
Bringing Tom Byer into USSF should have happened a decade ago.

Spoken like a complete idiot. Do you think he can magically place kids into European clubs youth systems or something. Kids here are scouted by euro clubs all the time. You haven't heard about them because like most kids they don't pan out. MLS academy players routinely sign on in Europe instead of signing a pro MLS contract, others stay in the US. Others go to Bradenton at a young age. If you think there should be a dozen bradentons across the country forming some industrial pipeline of professional soccer players, find a way to find it or move to China or be more realistic in your expectations. we can develop youth better mostly by getting them to want to practice by themselves all day in childhood like kids do with basketball. That would raise the baseline talent level of the team and the country, but that would also require a lot of outreach. Because right now, kids want to be Steph Curry.

Guardiola is not employed by Bayern anymore.
Van Laal
Brendan Rodgers
he is the best

Literally 0 percent chance the players would respect either.

This, I'm happy with Klinsmann unless there's somebody head and shoulders above him interested in the job.
They'd probably hire one of those big stronk americans like the guy coaching the crew right now. Either that or they pay the big bucks to get a Van Gall type. It's not a bad gig. Low pressure, overpaid. Only downside is that you don't win. I think as far as foreigners go, though, Klinsmann is about the best you're gonna get as far as an actual supporter of the team that's emotionally invested in American soccer.
Hire Ranieri

Get a proper manager to teach the young kids fútbol. In the meantime get an argie coach to manage what is left of the main team. They are cheap af and will literally work for a green card plus change. They are easy to replace too, which is something you want because after some time they tend to feel in charge and need to be put down to show them they are not.
Diego Maradona is the only right answer
>>69050948
Don't think he'd be interested in coaching literal babies.

Moyes or bust.

This pretty much. He could have won the Copa
>>69055451
Lolno. BB would've done much worse if he had the limited talent pool Klinsmann is working with right now. Klinsmann would've taken us farther if he had BB's 2009 or 2010 team which had Donovan and Deuce in their prime
>>69048077
That's what he meant for the player dev. They get into soccer way later and when they get a contract with a team they stop giving a shit.
Imagine
Americans just don't understand that it doesn't matter who is coach of the USA, they will always be shit, huh?
L A R S U R
Why is your first approach to your football "problem" to throw money at high profile coaches?
You could have the best coach in the world, as long as your country sees soccer as something only girls play and the interest in your team ebbs off as soon as they get kicked out of a world cup, you're simply lacking the domestic player base.
I don't even blame you for that, different nations favor different sports.
In Europe, basketball is seen as something only black ghetto youth play (at best), American football is perceived as a bunch of retards wrestling for a leather egg while being interrupted by Budweiser ads and LOL who cares about baseball.
That is nobody's fault in particular, but some cultural change is necessary to establish football as a sport in your country first. There isn't a single nation that is good or even "not shit" at soccer and at the same time so uninterested/hostile towards it as the US seems to be.
Again, I'm not pointing fingers here, I'm just telling you that different cultures develop(ed) different tastes in sports and forcefully pushing your way to become a big "insert sport here" nation will only result in disappointment, wasted money and even more hostility towards "insert sport here" due to all the "told you so!" faggots.
TL;DR, give it time and maybe buy your kids a "soccer" ball instead of NBA 2016
Some Italian. Any Italian.
Make Klinnsman in charge of management and development and have Claudio Reyna in charge of tactics. Oh look! I just got USA a world cup in 2026!
Van Gaal, there are not any real Stars in the team so he would bully them around and micromanage them to top efficiency.
