I'd take him a couple years ago to lead a team over Westbrook, Lillard, Irving, probably even Curry because his game was more reliable.

He could have been. We'll never know, his career was cut too short. In his prime, he was a faster Westbrook, if he had developed a better mid-range game he would have been unstoppable.
