Most first league club are actually are financial well standing. During his era Rijeka, and now Osijek atracted foreign investition that saved them from baknrupcy. In his era RNK Split was brought by a home ground investor. This was not the case in period before him.
Before him HNL was one the poorest leagues in Europe. HNL had a lower coefficient before Mamic. Now, HNL is placed 17th in Europe with tendency to catch the 15th place which will gave us two representatavies in Champions League.
I personally have three issue with Mamic and if the three issues were solved HNL would be perfect.
1. He is to influential among the refereees. They should all be independent from Mamic
2.The City of Zagreb should stop giving tax payers money to dinamo and handle it as a corporate person
3. The National team should be independent from him
if this all came true I would personally have no problems with Mamic. HNL is getting stronger every year and we should focus on it.

He destroyed the league by making the little clubs in the league his vassals and while other clubs don't get money from their cities anymore, Zagreb (tax money) is financing Dinamo through loopholes.
Also the act wasn't only done by Torcida, it was done by all groups (BBB, Torcida, slavonians from Vukovar, Osijek and Vinkovci).
