Hey /sp-fags,

My name is Vachier, and I hate every single pawn like you. All of you are fat, retarded goym who spend every second of your life chatting shit at a noble brain games. You are everything inferior in the world. Honestly, have any of you ever gotten a stalemate with a rook on h8? I mean... I swear it's fun making fun of people because of your own low IQ levels, but you all take to a new level, lowest than every bad elucubration in whole human history. This is even worse than jerking off to videos on blacked.

Don't be a loser. Just latvian gambit me with your best shot. I'm pretty much unattackable. I won my under8 championship in 1997, and think that Caruana's a fag. What sports do you play, other than "jack off to naked drawn Japanese people"? I also get straight A's, and have won unnumerable plays (I just won one; SHIT was SO cash). You are all Untermenschen who should just kill yourselves. Thanks for following my wins.

Do you think Julio Granda Zuniga will reach 2700 anytime soon?
>>
>>68288032
I haven't followed chess these past few years. I don't know how Granda has been doing, but I'd bet he's still flopping every now and then. Maybe Elo ratings have inflated so much that he'll reach that mark soon.

>>
>>68288331
He's 2699 now. I remember his performance at the 2013 World Cup, when he knocked out both Peter Leko and Anish Giri.
>>
>>68288433
I imagine his current rating has more to do with Elo inflation than with anything else. I had no idea he'd knocked out those two; it must have been really nice to ride that hype train.
>>
>>68286506
Hikaru Nakamura

Pure autism in every interview I see
>>
It was indeed a hype train. It took Caruana to stop him. As for the rating, I think it has more to do with the fact that he's working more seriously on chess now than he did in his youth, and he recently gained a lot of points in an open tournament in which he dominated.
>>
>>68288674
Well, it'd be nice if he started gitting gud, but I've heard that story before. It was in 2007/8 I think; some people started talking about Granda taking chess more seriously than before, getting funding from some company, and so on. Maybe I'll hear good things about him soon.

>>
>>68288977
He was always good, but I think he's pretty much the only modern player who became a Grandmaster without knowing vast amounts of opening theory. To this day, he's still one of the least theoretical players, but he's also pushing 50. I don't think he will be considerably better than he is now, but at least you have some up-and-coming players (Emilio Cordova, Jorge Cori) who can take up his legacy.

We have a player here in Norway, Simen Agdestein, who has a similar place in our history. He's born the same year as Granda Zuniga, was Norway's first Grandmaster, ranked in the top 20 around 1990 and can still hold his own against the best players of the world.

>>
>>68289376
Agdestein scored seven draws and two losses (spoiling very good positions against Karjakin and Grischuk) at the 2014 edition of Norway Chess. His two losses came in the last two rounds, against Veselin Topalov (against whom he would get his revenge at the European Club Cup later that year) and Magnus Carlsen.

If Cori, Cordova and Cruz are in good form, you're going to have the best team in South America by a significant margin. The level in Europe is obviously higher, but 2600 is 2600. It would be nice to see Peru perform well at the Olympiad in Baku later this year.

Let me tell you, chess players are fucking /weird/. Unfortunately, it's not possible to really make a living at it unless you're, like, top 20 in the world, so they're also often pretty sad.

Here's an interview with Evan O'Dorney. He's not really a chess player, but he won the Scripps National Spelling Bee and the Intel Science Talent Search(the nation's most prestigious scholarship worth $100,000). You LITERALLY cannot find a more autistic human than this.

How many more times will Naka have to get demolished by Carlsen before he commits sudoku?
>>
>>68290180
Recently, there have been many occasions where Nakamura has had no particular problems with holding Carlsen to a draw, and I remember at least two games where Carlsen was in major trouble against Nakamura (St. Louis 2013, Zurich 2014). Nakamura just can't seem to win, but I think that the problem is at least partially psychological. If and when Nakamura scores a classical win, I believe things might be easier for the American.
