Well I personally thought Dallas would perform well before last season and they ended up as #2 during the regular season.
Need to see drafts trades and whatever before making a guess for next season.

But Leafs, Nylander, Marner (implying he makes the Leafs) and Matthews (if he doesn't make the Leafs Babcock wtf). Also Kadri is starting to be in his prime, JVR and Morgan Reilly are good and Babcock is just an awesome coach.

Flames might make the playoffs without scraping in *if* they get their goalie situation solidified. They also need a coach, but that should be fine. Otherwise the pieces are mostly in place for a playoff team, not yet ready for a cup-contending team.

No. Never. Not in the NHL. A luck team might make the playoffs, but that luck team will have difficulty making it past the 2nd round. It gets very, very, very difficult after the 1st round and tougher when it's down to two teams.
